Sharing what we are experiencing with RSV for someone who has acute myeloid leukemia Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that causes respiratory infections, particularly during the colder months when RSV season typically peaks. It can be especially dangerous for infants and young children due to their developing immune systems and smaller airways, which are more prone to blockage. 🚨 Why RSV Season Matters Highly Contagious: RSV spreads easily through droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through contact with contaminated surfaces. Risk to Children: Babies and toddlers are most at risk, as RSV can lead to severe infections like bronchiolitis or pneumonia. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞𝐬 💧 Handwashing: Proper hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of RSV and other germs. Wash for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. 😷 Avoid Contact if Sick: If you’re feeling unwell, minimize exposure to babies to reduce their risk of infection. 🙅♀️ Avoid Kissing Babies: RSV spreads easily through saliva, so avoid kissing young children, especially during RSV season. 🧹 Disinfection: Regularly clean high-touch surfaces like toys, doorknobs, and counters to eliminate the virus. 🏥 Watch for Symptoms: Difficulty breathing Persistent cough Wheezing Unusual lethargy or signs of dehydration RSV is preventable with awareness and precautions. By practicing good hygiene and being mindful of our interactions with young children, we can significantly reduce the risk of serious illness. Let’s keep our little ones safe this RSV season! ❤️ Any amount would be so much appreciated, For any donations you can send through here: #rsvseason #RSVAwareness #leukemia #leukemiawarrior #bmt
