Day 1 started with just a little itchy patch by my clavicle. Day 10 was the biggest transformation since this all started. I woke up first because I couldn’t sleep and crept up on @dantransform to surprise him while he was checking on the kids.

I’m so appreciative of many of you who are concerned and urging me to go to the ER, but I’ve confirmed with my healthcare team that I’m safe at home on my regimen since I don’t have any respiratory or vision issues. I’m trying to be patient to give the meds time to work. The Bigs know I have an ouchie and studied my face because they were concerned. The only time anyone actually got scared was when I had oatmeal on my face 🤓

After a couple years of absolute & hell, my journey is finally getting somewhere & I will NEVER take a for granted ever again. The is real like constantly living in fear of the next but I am so grateful for my skin 🙌🏼

It’s #EczemaAwarenessMonth 🙌🏼 Last month during #EczemaAwarenessWeek I shared physical & emotional aspects of my #eczemajourney. If I’m honest with you, I found that week incredibly exhausting. Sifting through years of graphic photos & videos of when my #eczema was at its worse triggered all sorts of challenging emotions. I was reminded of the despair, the depression and & the pain that comes with having a skin condition. The physical aspect is only part of the daily challenge. Something else I was reminded of was the #lossofidentity #selfesteem & #senseofself. Looking in the mirror & not recognising yourself. Longing for the face I had before the #skincondition had taken over. I had almost temporarily blocked that from my brain until those images triggered the feelings again. I had to constantly remind myself that what I saw was just a temporary shell and that eventually the flare up would pass and I would start to really see myself again. It was just me in a different form that needed a bit more time & care. Having compassion for myself was a huge part of my #eczemahealing journey. Of course I had my moments of self-hatred & outcries of ‘why are you doing this to me?!’. But we wouldn’t speak to our loved ones like this, so why should we treat ourselved in such a way? Remember that despite what might be going on on the outside, we are #eczemawarriors to our core, so we need to stay strong & persevere.
