Why your #hyperpigmentation is not fading from a Dermatologist! Details👇 ✔️Tinted sunscreens are more effective than nontinted in preventing and reducing hyperpigmentation because they have contain iron oxide to reduce the effects of visible light. My favorite is HydratintBB SPF44 ✔️Vitamin C helps reduce the amount of melanin (pigment) made by the skin and helps protect agains UV damage ✔️Retinol/retinoids block the enzyme tyrosinase and reduce melanin production, enhance cell turnover, and minimize breakouts. ✔️Eating citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits can help brighten your complexion. But avoid getting it on the skin in the sun as it can actually cause discoloration. ✔️Multiple studies show blue light (HEVL) from screens can contribute to pigmentation issues, particularly hyperpigmentation (dark spots) ✔️Azelaic acid, found in Azelaic10 Serum fades hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase, reducing melanin, and fading dark spots. It’s also anti-inflammatory and a gentle exfoliant. ✔️Glycolic acid is one of the best exfoliating acids to help brighten the skin. 1-2 x a week is sufficient as more can disrupt the skin barrier and irritate the skin. My go to is Clarify Pads @AziMD Skincare #skincare101 #glowingskin #skincaretips #melasma Consults: link in Bio 👆 To see me as a patient 📲 or text: (858)943-2171 📩 info@lajollalaserderm.com
