Can IBS weaken your immune system? Part 1️⃣ Ahead of the cold and flu season you might wonder how IBS can affect your immune health 🤧 Technically, IBS isn’t considered an inflammatory disease, but it has been recategorized as a neuroimmune disorder – meaning it is recognised that it can have affects on the immune system, as it can be associated with low levels of inflammation. As a nutritionist I’m super interested in the physiology and the underlying root causes of symptoms – and the interactions between digestive turmoil such as in cases of IBS, plus immune health, is really interesting. We want to think of the bigger picture and how one system affects another, rather than just trying to stick a plaster on each individual symptom. Some important underlying process that affect and link both IBS and immune health are as follows: Firstly, digestive issues such as low stomach acid could mean you have trouble absorbing some key immune-supporting and anti-inflammatory nutrients including Vitamins C, D or zinc ☀️ Stress, a common factor a vicious cycle in IBS, can also compromise the immune system 💆🏽‍♀️ Finally, dysbiosis of your gut bacteria, which can be a common feature in those with IBS, can further compromise your immune health - since the majority of your immune system reside in the gut. 🦠 Whilst immune responses may be dampened in some cases of IBS, there is also the risk that low grade inflammation associated with IBS could also up-regulate the immune system – causing it to over-react. Tune in for part 2 when I tell you what you can do to help ✨ #ibs #immunehealth #digestivehealth #nutrition #physiology
Happy Rare Disease Awareness Day! 🦓 The best thing you can do to support rare disease patients is to be there for them and to educate yourself on their diseases, so here’s a little about rare neuroimmune diseases! 🫶🏻 I have a couple of ultra-rare neuroimmune diseases called CIDP and NMOSD which have altered the course of my life over the past few years. Even just this week I’ve had 4 infusions in 6 days and so many complications, which I’m still trying to cope with 🫠 being a rare disease patient is so complex, we need very specialist care which is often hard to find, require expensive treatments, constant procedures, and because our conditions are so rare, there are so few people who understand what we are going through 💔 By raising awareness for rare diseases we can increase research funding, which massively improves patient outcomes (as most of our treatments are experimental) and create community! 🥰 @Chronic Love Club are an amazing group and share lots of rare disease stories, so check them out! For more info on rare neuroimmune diseases checkout https://wearesrna.org And for more info on rare diseases in general head to @NORD or go to https://www.rarediseaseadvisor.com ✨ Sending all my rare disease friends so much love today! It’s a never ending fight but at least we have each other 🩷 #raredisease #rarediseaseday #neuroimmune #nmo #cidp #transversemyelitis #chronicillness #disability #lightupforrare #rarediseaseawareness #fyp #neuroimmunedisease #foryou
Selank: The Research Peptide for Anxiety, Cognitive Function & Immune Support 🔬🧠 Selank, a synthetic nootropic peptide, is being actively researched for its potential role in reducing anxiety, enhancing cognitive function, and modulating the immune system. Studies suggest it may influence neurotransmitter balance, stress resilience, and mood regulation, making it a promising area of interest in neurology and mental health research. 🔬 Key Research Highlights ✅ Supports Anxiety & Stress Reduction 😌 • Research suggests Selank may help lower anxiety and stress levels by regulating GABA and serotonin activity in the brain. ✅ Enhances Cognitive Function & Memory 🧠 • Studies indicate Selank may support learning, focus, and memory retention, making it a potential nootropic for mental clarity and cognitive performance. ✅ Modulates the Immune System 🛡️ • Research suggests Selank may enhance immune response by regulating inflammatory cytokines, offering potential support for immune health. ✅ Neuroprotective Potential 🔬 • Studies explore Selank’s role in reducing oxidative stress and neuroinflammation, which may help protect brain cells and support long-term brain health. ✅ Fast-Acting & Non-Sedative Effects ⚡ • Unlike traditional anti-anxiety medications, research indicates Selank may offer rapid stress relief without causing sedation or addiction potential. ✅ Potential Synergy with Semax & Other Nootropics 🤝 • Researchers are exploring how Selank and Semax may work together to optimize cognitive function and mental performance. • Potential for stacking with other nootropics for enhanced focus, stress reduction, and brain health. 🔍 Why Researchers Are Interested: • Selank is being studied for its potential applications in anxiety disorders, cognitive decline, and neuroimmune regulation. • Ongoing research is evaluating its role in mental clarity, stress resilience, and overall brain health. 🛒 Find premium-quality Selank for research at www.Peptivigor.com ⚠️ Disclaimer: This content is for research and educational purposes only.
