A renowned media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, has announced that national security is now powerless due to political manipulation in the country. During his submission on the For the Records Show (FRS) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, he stated that President John Dramani Mahama promised to reset Ghana. However, he does not understand why the president is using the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to pursue individuals, specifically members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). According to him, the mistakes committed by the immediate past government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are the same things that the current government is also exhibiting to Ghanaians. To him, the Mahama administration has nothing new to offer the people of Ghana. “Mahama said he’s resetting the nation; he is now using the BNI to do the same things as the immediate past government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. They’re still using the security agencies to do ‘nonsense,’ and nobody cares in this country,” he asserted. The men and women who put their lives on the line to expose the truth about our overlords won’t be protected from unjust persecution. The funny thing is, this law was originally designed to prevent national governments from illegally spying on journalists without a court order but now, they’re about to get a free pass. My friends please don’t forget that if your Governments have the power to disregard Laws for the sake of national security, they will be the first ones to create an emergency when it’s needed to bypass any law that they create. And one more thing, whenever your government tells you that they’re doing something to protect you and your fellow citizens, you can be sure that the real reason is to get more power, more control and more surveillance over you.
