Capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo is definitely a must-go city. Susukino Nikka Billboard, Odori Park and its TV tower, Sapporo Beer Museum, Hokkaido Shrine, miso ramen and genghis khan, Sapporo features a lot of famous places and food - which I, of course, recommend to go or try! But here are my lesser-known places/activities recommendations ↓ . 1. Stroll around Nakajima Park Beautiful and calm park which features a big pond, a free observatory, and plenty of space to play, pique-nique, etc 💴 Free 🚃 Take Namboku Line from Odori Station (6min - ¥210) . 2. Eat soup curry at Rojiura Curry Samurai Best place to try Sapporo's specialty curry soup, made of chopped steamed vegetables and meat (traditionally tender chicken), served with rice aside 💴 ¥1,540 🚃 7min by foot from Odori Station . 3. Learn Hokkaido's history at Historical Village of Hokkaido Open-air museum of relocated and restored buildings that represent the history of Hokkaido from 1868 to the 1920s, perfect to learn more about Hokkaido people's lifestyles through the ages 💴 ¥1,000 🚃 Take Tozai Line from Odori Station to Shin-Sapporo Station (20min - ¥330) and take the bus n°22 to Kaitakunomura (20min - ¥210) . 4. Enjoy the view from Mount Moiwa Observation Desk Vast 360-degree panorama overlooking Sapporo 💴 Free 🚃 Take Sapporo Shiden tram from Nishiyonchome Station to Ropeway Iriguchi Station (18min - ¥200) and either climb the mountain or take the ropeway (7min - ¥2,100 round-trip) . 5. Pray at Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine Red torii gates, calm and magical atmosphere, cute fox figures : everything makes this place the best shrine in Sapporo! 💴 Free 🚃 Take Sapporo Shiden tram from Odori Station to Nishisen Jurokujo Station (16min - ¥200) and walk 16min . 6. Take a sweet break at MaShu Cosy cafe which offers various teas, delicious butter sandwiches and beautiful view on a garden 💴 ¥800-1,000 🚃 Take Tozai Line from Odori Station to Maruyama Koen Station (5min - ¥210) and walk 8min . 7. Pay your respects at Hill of Buddha Impressive Great Buddha located in Makomanai Takino Cemetery, where you can also find Moai statues 💴 ¥300 🚃 Take Nanboku Line from Odori Station to Makomanai Station (16min - ¥290) and hop on bus n°108 to Makomanai Takino Reien (20 min - ¥380) . 8. Camp at Jozankei Nature Village Great camping complex where you can rent everything you need (tent, yurt or cottage, barbecue, ustensils, etc) and use their installations (pizza oven, playground, etc) 💴 ¥4,700 for a cottage 5 pl. 🚃 Take "Rapid 7h" bus from Odori Station (1h45 - ¥860) and take a taxi or walk 28min . 9. Go back into childhood at Shiroi Koibito Park Sweets-themed amusement park which features chocolate-making courses, a view on famous Shiroi Koibito cookies and Baumkuchen cake's production lines, shops, cafes and a beautiful garden with european-style buildings 💴 ¥800 🚃 Take Tozai Line from Odori Station to Miyanosawa Station (26min - ¥290) . 10.
