Capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo is definitely a must-go city. Susukino Nikka Billboard, Odori Park and its TV tower, Sapporo Beer Museum, Hokkaido Shrine, miso ramen and genghis khan, Sapporo features a lot of famous places and food - which I, of course, recommend to go or try! But here are my lesser-known places/activities recommendations ↓ . 1. Stroll around Nakajima Park Beautiful and calm park which features a big pond, a free observatory, and plenty of space to play, pique-nique, etc 💴 Free 🚃 Take Namboku Line from Odori Station (6min - ¥210) . 2. Eat soup curry at Rojiura Curry Samurai Best place to try Sapporo's specialty curry soup, made of chopped steamed vegetables and meat (traditionally tender chicken), served with rice aside 💴 ¥1,540 🚃 7min by foot from Odori Station . 3. Learn Hokkaido's history at Historical Village of Hokkaido Open-air museum of relocated and restored buildings that represent the history of Hokkaido from 1868 to the 1920s, perfect to learn more about Hokkaido people's lifestyles through the ages 💴 ¥1,000 🚃 Take Tozai Line from Odori Station to Shin-Sapporo Station (20min - ¥330) and take the bus n°22 to Kaitakunomura (20min - ¥210) . 4. Enjoy the view from Mount Moiwa Observation Desk Vast 360-degree panorama overlooking Sapporo 💴 Free 🚃 Take Sapporo Shiden tram from Nishiyonchome Station to Ropeway Iriguchi Station (18min - ¥200) and either climb the mountain or take the ropeway (7min - ¥2,100 round-trip) . 5. Pay your respects at Hill of Buddha Impressive Great Buddha located in Makomanai Takino Cemetery, where you can also find Moai statues 💴 ¥300 🚃 Take Nanboku Line from Odori Station to Makomanai Station (16min - ¥290) and hop on bus n°108 to Makomanai Takino Reien (20 min - ¥380) . 8. Camp at Jozankei Nature Village Great camping complex where you can rent everything you need (tent, yurt or cottage, barbecue, ustensils, etc) and use their installations (pizza oven, playground, etc) 💴 ¥4,700 for a cottage 5 pl. 🚃 Take "Rapid 7h" bus from Odori Station (1h45 - ¥860) and take a taxi or walk 28min . 9. Milk in Japan just hits different 😮‍💨 At this shop tucked away in Jiyugaoka, you can try a bunch of desserts featuring Hokkaido milk, in addition to having it straight up like we did. Hokkaido is known nationwide for having the best dairy products, all starting with its rich and creamy milks 🐄 We got a milk flight for just ¥220, or $1.45, and got to choose three from their selection of nine. Each contain a different fat percentage and coke from different parts of Hokkaido. They each had their own characteristic flavor, sweetness, and richness. Imo mochi 🥔 de Demon Slayer Spécialité culinaire d’Hokkaido 🇯🇵 Pour environ 8 mochis : - 450g de pomme de terre - 3cs bombées de farine de riz gluant - Sel, poivre - 30g de beurre - Mozzarella râpée (optionnel) La sauce : - 2cs de sauce soja - 1cs de sirop d’érable - 1cs de mirin - 2cs d’eau - 1cc de fécule de maïs Étapes : 1. Pelez et coupez les pomme de terre en cubes. Faites les cuire dans une casserole d’eau avec 1 pincée de sel 2. Une fois cuites, écrasez les pomme de terre avec le beurre, assaisonnez de sel et de poivre 3. Ajoutez la farine de riz gluant et pétrissez jusqu’à obtenir une boule de pâte lisse et homogène (rajoutez de la farine si ça colle trop) 4. Formez un boudin et découpez le en 8 parts égales 5. Formez des boules, puis un creux. Ajoutez un peu de mozzarella râpée, refermez bien la boule de pâte et formez un carré 6. Dans une poêle avec un filet d’huile, faites griller de chaque côté vos Imo mochi. Retirez les de la poêle pour faire cuire la sauce 7. Dans un récipient, mélangez tous les ingrédients de la sauce et ajoutez les dans la poêle. Remuez rapidement à feu doux jusqu’à ce que la sauce soit bien nappante 8.
