Happy disability pride month, shakers!!
Over the past few months I’ve made great strides in being more confident about my scars and I want to share how. My breakthrough happened when I started to challenge my intrusive thoughts surrounding what I notice FIRST about people I meet. It’s easy for your ego to recognize something negative about how someone looks so that you feel less alone in your own insecurities.
When this were to happen, I’d consciously challenge myself to ask why that even matters, why I’m noticing, and healing that part of myself that WANTS to notice those things about other people. It takes a lot to change the way society built you at a young age to protect yourself, but what’s worth it in the end is the connections you create with others and yourself while overcoming this hurdle.
Just a thought I wanted to share this disability pride month, and I urge you to try and think in a similar way if you notice yourself thinking these things, regardless if it’s towards an able bodied person or not!
Stay cute & kind ❤️

Disability representation is something that I am really passionate about and I’m so happy I can do that in my comics :D I put a lot of work and research into making sure I understand each disability I write about. (As much as I can understand. I’ve only experienced some so others I won’t be as knowledgeable about) If any if you guys have criticisms/advice about how I go about doing it I’m very open to that. But uh, yeah. I hope I can create something that some of you can relate to and feel seen in :) <3

As a disabled simmer, i think it’s important to highlight and celebrate the use of mobility aides in the sims 4. here are just some of my favorite cc aides with a fre basegame ones as well. The #sims4 team have done a good job adding certain things to the game but i would LOVE to see more aides added, especially wheelchairs/ramps/and useable elevators!! ♿️ #thesims4 #sims #simstok #ts4 #createasim #accessibility #disabilitypridemonth #disabledgamer #customcontent #maxismatch #thesims4mods
Have you ever noticed just how many people in the LGBTQ+ community also… have disabilities? It’s 1 in 3! 🤯
(For reference, according to government figures, in the general population it’s just under 1 in 5 people)
So the question is: why?
I’ve heard some people say it’s to do with intersectionality; that if one part of your identity is a clear minority (like a visible disability) that it’s easier to acknowledge other parts of yourself that are different from the ‘norm’, like your gender or sexuality… but this isn’t always the case! Others pose that it may simply be because discrimination takes a toll on our wellbeing.
What do you think the reason is?
Always remember: we’re strongest when we stand together 🌟
Studies from both the American Public Health Association and the LGBT Movement Advancement Project.

Disability Pride Month 2024: presenting my disability experience authentically
I experience challenges every day because of my disability. I feel like I don’t highlight these challenges very much on my social media, so I want to start showcasing the little challenges I face every day more. I’m so proud of myself and every disabled individual for working through the challenges our disabilities throw at us 🩵
[Video Description: ST, a young white woman with long blonde hair in a braid, is on screen. There are various clips of her showing beauty products, putting on jewelry, her closet, and smiling at the camera at the end.]

Happy Disability Pride Month🤍
Rare but it happens 😅. This rarity is still part of my norm so I didn’t realize that I said so annoying out loud or the guy’s reaction until I saw this clip. It was funny to me so thought I would share 🤣.

Happy disability pride 2024. Disability pride month is an opportunity to raise awareness on disabilities, start conversations and celebrate the diversity of the disabled community.
However, these things can’t be forgotten:
- disabled people still have to fight for rights
- there are people struggling with their disabled identity, so disability pride month is not a celebration for everyone
