Here is some advice that can change your life if applied. I was born with a rare disease called Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) that has slowly taken away my physical abilities for my whole life. I was an athlete growing up and wanted to go pro. Instead, I use a wheelchair. However, losing my identity as an athlete led me to know Jesus and understand my purpose. My life is full of grief and daily challenges while at the same time full of joy, hope, and beauty. Here’s some things I’ve learned on this journey. 1 Building a firm foundation on purpose is the key to enduring the storms of life. When you’re locked in on purpose you can always adapt to circumstances. 2 Make the most of what you can do instead of being held back by what you can’t do. We are in control of our choices despite circumstances. 3 Hold tension. Hard times are part of the journey but there is so much to live for. Never give up. I hope that helps. Join me on my journey to become a team USA para athlete and turn obstacles to opportunities, hopefully encouraging others along the way. #curefa #paraclimber #paraathlete #disabilty #raredisease #paralympics
