Satellite imagery captured three tropical cyclones — Alfred, Seru and Rae — spinning northeast of Australia on Feb. 26. Three other tropical cyclones, Bianca, Honde and Garance, have also formed in the South Pacific and South Indian Oceans. While Rae is no longer likely to strengthen, Alfred, a Category 3 storm, is “slowly strengthening” as it moves through the Coral Sea and is expected to remain off the Queensland coast into the weekend. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology said Wednesday, however, that “there is high uncertainty in regards to Alfreds movement beyond Saturday, with possible risk that Alfred may move closer to the central or southern Queensland coast by Sunday.” #australia #queensland #tropicalcyclone #cyclone #weather #ocean #satellite
