Confession: Sometimes I find it pretentious when people say/pronounce a word in another language bc I assume they want people to know they speak a second language and then I catch myself doing that all the time 😂😭🥲 yeah I’m a hypocrite 🤣😭 but it’s just bc I grew up saying the word like that so idk why I still think like that but here we are lol Korokke Makes 12-15 Ingredients: - 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced - Salt and pepper, to taste - 3 eggs, beaten - Flour, for coating - Panko breadcrumbs, for coating - Vegetable oil, for frying Instructions: 1. Place the potato cubes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes. 2. Drain the potatoes and mash them in a large bowl until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into oval or cylindrical patties, about 1 inch thick. 4. Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with panko. 5. Coat each korokke patty in flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it in panko. 6. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Fry the korokke patties in batches until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. 7. Remove the korokke from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot with tonkatsu sauce.
