Healthy greek yogurt bagels✨ . Thank you Gina @skinnytaste for this recipe! . ▪️1 Cup All-Purpose Flour▪️2 tsp Baking Powder▪️3/4 tsp Kosher Salt▪️1 Cup Nonfat Greek Yogurt▪️1 Egg, beaten▪️Everything Seasoning▪️Cream Cheese, for serving (optional)▪️Cucumbers, for serving (optional)▪️ . 1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or coat with oil) 2️⃣ Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt; add the yogurt and mix until combined (it will look crumbly) 3️⃣ Dust a cutting board with flour and empty dough from the bowl; knead the dough a few times until dough is tacky, but not sticky, about 15 turns (dust it with flour if it's sticking to your hands) 4️⃣ Shape into a ball and then cut in half, then cut each in half one more time to create four balls; roll each ball into 3/4-inch thick ropes and join the ends to form bagels 5️⃣ Top with egg wash and sprinkle with everything seasoning; bake on the top rack of the oven for 25 minutes 6️⃣ Let cool for 10 mins before cutting and enjoy with cream cheese and cucumbers! . ⏲ 10 minute prep time + 25 minute cook time . PROTEIN BAGEL 101 🥯 my updated protein bagel recipe with everything I’ve learned through making many, many batches. Ingredients: 1 cup bread flour (124 g) or all purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup non-fat plain greek yogurt (227 g) 1 whole egg everything bagel seasoning, optional Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and spray a baking sheet pan with cooking spray. 2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the greek yogurt and stir together until the dough forms. 3. Lightly grease or dust a counter surface with flour and set down the dough. Knead for just a minute to fully combine everything. Form into a small circle and cut into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a cylinder, then connect the ends to form the bagels. Set bagels on the prepared pan. 4. Make a quick egg wash by whisking the egg in a small bowl. Brush onto the tops of the bagels, then sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, if desired. Bake for 27-30 minutes or until golden brown. Notes: • Can sub self-rising flour in place of the flour + baking powder. • Fage yogurt is less creamy and easier to work with. • Bread flour has a higher protein content and helps with the overall structure of the bagels. Can use all purpose as well. • Make sure to grease the pan well, otherwise these will stick. • Coat fingers with a little water or oil when forming the bagels to help with sticking. 🥯🥯🥯🥯 recipe for 4 bagels (I made 4 servings): 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup plain non fat yogurt 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Toppings I used: flakey salt and everything but the bagel seasoning Preheat oven to 400. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, & salt. Mix well. Add in your greek yogurt and mix together with a wooden spoon, then go in with your hands and create your dough. Transfer your dough to a floured surface and knead dough for a couple of minutes. Cut the dough into 4 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Polk your thumb through the middle to create a bagel shape. Repeat with the rest of the pieces. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Whisk 1 egg in a bowl and brush all bagels on the top. Sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning or toppings of choice. Bake at 400 for 22-23 minutes (depending on your oven it could be less!). Let sit for a c couple minutes before slicing. I like to toast mind additionally before serving! With all the leftovers, I stored majority of them in the freezer but they will stay good in the fridge for up to a week! Plus, they’re super easy to make you won’t want to buy store-bought bagels ever again. SAVE FOR YOUR NEXT BAGEL CRAVING How to make them: Mix equal parts non-fat Greek yogurt and self-rising flour (I used 1 cup of each for 4 bagels. No self-rising flour? Add 1½ tsp baking powder + ¼ tsp salt per 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Mix and knead until you’ve got a dough ball. They will be sticky at first, that’s ok. If you want to make blueberry bagels, add about ½ cup blueberries (defrosted if frozen). Lightly flour a surface, knead for a couple more minutes, and divide the dough into 4 parts. Roll into balls and poke a hole in the center to make a bagel shape. Brush bagels with egg wash, add toppings if desired (sesame, poppyseeds or everything bagel seasoning etc.) and air fry at 350°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway. Adjust time as needed as cooking time may vary based on the appliance. I used the @ourplace Wonder Oven and 20 mins was perfect. When they’re golden, allow them to cool. Roll into 1 tbsp sized balls, spray with oil & coat with everything bagel seasoning. Air fry @ 350F for 10-12 mins. Serve with cream cheese and enjoy 👌 Pro tip: If the dough isn’t firm, keep adding almond flour until it is, sometimes I end up adding an extra 1/4 cup to get the right texture.
