This is the recipe for our competition BBQ sauce! INGREDIENTS -Ketchup: 2 quarts -Cider Vinegar: 1 cup -Brown Sugar: 2.5 pounds (about 5 cups) -Worcestershire Sauce: 3/4 cup -Louisiana Hot Sauce: 1 cup -Liquid Smoke: 2 tablespoons -Dry Mustard: 3.5 tablespoons -Garlic Powder: 3.5 tablespoons -Onion Salt: 3.5 tablespoons -Ground Black Pepper: 1.5 tablespoons -Dark Corn Syrup: 1 cup -Pineapple Juice: 1 cup -Lemon Juice: 1/2 cup -Kosher Salt: 2 tablespoons -Honey: 1.5 cups -Pureed Chipotle Chili: 1.5 tablespoons -BBQ Rub: 1/4 cup -BBQ Sauce (SBR): 1/2 cup METHOD -Combine Liquids: In a large pot, combine the ketchup, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, liquid smoke, dark corn syrup, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and honey. Stir well to integrate. -Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually stir in the brown sugar, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion salt, ground black pepper, kosher salt, pureed chipotle chili, BBQ rub, and BBQ sauce (SBR). Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined. -Cook: Bring the sauce mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. -Finish: After simmering, remove the pot from heat.
