Raising this little boy has been trying(to say the least), a learning curve for everyone, a patience tester daily, but also but rewarding and a huge sense of accomplishment. Many little things happen and during research we are like omg I never knew that was an “Austim thing” this altocelarophobia is one of those. I’m not saying everyone with autism has this but it’s a legit fear that I thought he was just crazy for, like why are you asking about a ceiling? My patience says “Dude, cut the $h!t” while my Mom brain says “Wait a minute, this is silly…” and it brings back memories of a tour we did at a therapeutic school and when we got to the Gym it was large, open and very tall and that also is when he began to panic and wanted to leave. So then I begin my studies and learning. We have learned so much about the brain, parenting, medication, techniques, advice, support groups, do and don’ts, therapies, services and sooo much more. We learned a lot of legal things about public schools and what they are required to do. We have learned the difference between his literal bratty 8yo behavior and the behaviors that come out due to the emotions, thoughts and feelings he is finally (after4/5 years) starting to be able to express. So anyway… new word to me… new phobia to me… legit fear lol. It literally puts him into panic mode. He was nearly crying, held my arm for about 15/20 minutes but after that time to realize everything was ok he was able to enjoy the show. #fyp #autism #autismawareness #specialneedsmom #parentsoftiktok #letsbefriends #momsover40 #hanginthere
