🌺🌼🎃 Flower Pumpkins 🎃🌼🌺  Steiner’s philosophy and approach is heavily based in beauty, wonder an awe. The beauty aspect has often been misconstrued to be ‘superficial’. However, when looked at more closely, the emphasis is placed on the effort, intention and thought rather than the external beauty. Instead of just randomly putting together something, festivals and the preamble to it, are very much integrated and thoughtfully put into the child’s world. We involve them in transforming our space, we involve them in preparing the food to be shared, we allow them to experience the excitement, joy and wonder of preparing to come together as family, friends and community.   Here, we have little Celina helping us to create Flower Pumpkins for our Harvest Festival. ✨🍎Clay Apple Plate Making 🍎✨ As throughout autumn, our morning circle songs contain a lot of songs about wonderful rosy apples. Throughout Autumn the children engage in a variety of activities including apples. One of our lovely parents, who is very creative with clay, offered to join us and teach the children how to make plates out of clay. The children followed the process of flattening the clay, followed by rolling it flat. Maria then got her plate to cut around. One of our lovely parents, who is very creative with clay, offered to join us and teach the children how to make plates out of clay.

The children followed the process of flattening the clay, followed by rolling it flat. Maria then got her plate to cut around. Once everything was all cut out, the children designed their plates with beautiful apples.

Once the plates are all dry, the children will have the opportunity to paint their plates in a variety of colours.

You can buy packs of slightly smaller wood slices from our online shop. They can be used in so many ways! We’ve previously used them to make a noughts and crosses game and to make pressed flower pendants.

We are now outlining the promo itself. I like writing it out forst to get an idea for spacing, then painting over it to secure the spot of the words, and finally outlining it with a marker over the painted background.
