Two unpopular opinions about having a pet rabbit! These are definitely going to ruffle some cotton tails 😅🐇 but ❌Absolutely no hateful comments allowed ❌ These are just my opinion with owning rabbits for 7 years and what works for us 🩷

1. Pellets - when a rabbit is young, pellets provide a lot of nutrients they need. However as a rabbit grows older pellets do not need to be a part of their daily diet. When my oldest rabbit turned 2 (she’s now almost 7) my vet said I could slowly start weening her off pellets. By the time she was 3 she didn’t have pellets as part of her daily diet. Pellets can cause obesity, liver failure, and a lot of other health concerns in adult rabbits and they aren’t completely necessary. My rabbit has 24/7 access to high quality fresh hay & water, lots of chew toys and sticks, and treats in moderation. Every year the vet says she is in top notch shape and health!

2. Having Multiple Rabbits - not every one has the luxury or funds to own and properly care for multiple rabbits (vet visits included). Does that mean you can’t experience how beautiful life is with a pet rabbit? No! If you’re able to provide quality time and affection with your single rabbit - they will be happy! I had my oldest rabbit for 6 years before getting a second one and she was happy and content. We were like two peas in a pod. I took her on adventures, to the park, beach, and spent a LOT of quality time with her and showed her a lot of affection every single day. She was happy and content! If you have the luxury to properly afford multiple rabbits then definitely consider it, as they are social creatures. But if not - it’s okay! Just treat them like you would a pet dog. Play with them, shower them with affection and quality time, and they can live a long healthy and happy life.

I know a lot of people have different opinions about these two subject matters. But please know that both of my rabbits are healthy and happy and soooo spoiled!!! Stop judging fellow bunny parents. We are all doing the best we can to love and care for these gentle creatures with the funds we have 💜
