You know when the heat of summer turns your planters into big dust bowls filled with dead or wilting plants? There is a way around this so you can keep your plants alive and looking amazing without a lot of work. No more lugging around heavy garden hoses all season long either! 🌸 Years ago, I discovered the magic of drip irrigation systems set on timers that I run to all my pots, window boxes, planters and hanging baskets (I already had them in the beds), and let me tell you, it was a total game changer for me! 🌸 It gets really really hot here in New Jersey in the summer so my planters can dry out really quickly, especially if they are in the sun. Sometimes they’d even need to be watered twice a day just to keep them going in excessive heat conditions. 🌸 I discovered the magic of drip irrigation kits set up on a timer and have not looked back since! No more frantic watering sprees or wilting worries! Especially during extreme heat or while I’m on vacation. Drip irrigation systems deliver steady, targeted watering directly to your plants' roots (where they need it most) all while you relax and recharge. Plus, it saves water and keeps your precious blooms thriving all season long.🌸 And the best part is, you don’t have to invest in a crazy expensive drip irrigation system because you can easily set up your own with a kit! They are easy to use, assemble, and work amazingly well. It was a total game changer for me in my flower gardens that have kept my plants alive and looking amazing all season long! It saves you time, energy, and lets you enjoy your flowers without having to do as much work!🌸 It may be winter now, but it’s time to think spring! You’ll want to have these ready to go when you are ready to plant! This is how I keep all of my planters looking lush and beautiful all season long. It is a must-have if you want an easier way to grow flowers this year.🌸 #gardeninghack #gardening #gardentok #gardenideas #gardeningtipsandtricks #gardeningtime #gardeningtipsandtricks #flowergarden #flowergardenideas #containergarden #planters #dripirrigation #hangingbaskets
I feel like we got a lot accomplished today by pulling all the dead plants out of the tunnel and saving the seeds from my marigolds. I now have thousands upon thousands of seeds (which I plan to make gifts with) because no single garden needs this many marigolds!! I plant these alongside my tomatoes, but also my peppers and cucumbers. Marigolds are also excellent companions for carrots, squash & zucchini, lettuce, beans, corn, strawberries, melons, basil, rosemary & thyme, roses and grapes! Just keep them away from beans and cabbage. Marigolds not only add beauty to the garden but also create a natural barrier against pests, improve pollination, and enhance overall plant health 🪴 This year, I’ll be adding new colors and varieties to the mix (some yellows & Eskimo white). The beauty of these growing alongside our food makes me want to spend so much time in my garden!! (More on my site… FreedomForestFarm.com 🔗 in bio)
