Ougai Mori is the port mafia boss (As we already know.) He is way too commonly mischaracterised as a p/dophile, this however, is not true at all. First, I will start with the p/do allegations towards him. A big reason people think he is a p/dophile is because of the clearly MISTRANSLATED line "I prefer the women in my life to be under 12." If you were to read the original Japanese manga, this line would not exist. It is that he wants to protect children under 12. If you also went to Japan and asked a BSD fan "Hey, do you think Mori is a nonce?" The obvious answer would be no. This argument doesn't even exist in Japan. Now let's get to his ability. Vita Sexualis is Mori's ability. Vita meaning Life, (and autobiography in some instances) and sexualis meaning asexual (both originating from Latin.) Mori wrote the book Vita sexualis, an autobiography about himself, pretty much. We all know by now that BSD abilities and personalities/traits are based off of the books/poems that they wrote. We have not once seen him show any interest in women at all. Now let's go back to his ability. It is an ability that allows Mori to summon and 'configure' Elise's personality in any way he wills (from google) Elise is based off of the book The dancing girl, about a young student falling in love with a blonde, German dancer. In the book, the student has to choose between his career and Elise. In the book, he eventually chooses his career. Now in BSD, we can't compare this to Elise because he never abandons her, HOWEVER what about Dazai? Yosano? We will come back to this after I've gone through the beast AU. In beast, Mori is no longer the port mafia boss. In one of the lines he says referring to Dazai, he says "I wanted to save him but couldn't." Where else do we hear this? When the student meets Elise in The dancing girl. You can argue and tell me "BEAST ISN'T CANNON!!" And to that I say, okay? Their beliefs and traits don't change, they're just placed into a different situation and so act differently. We can also assume from this that he wanted to save Yosano too. In beast, he eventually saves Atsushi from being in the mafia after Dazai ends his life and adopts him, becoming head of the orphanage. Back to the OG universe. Let's refer back to when I was speaking about the book The dancing girl, and how the student had to pick between his career and the girl. No, this isn't related to Elise in BSD, but it can be related to Dazai and Yosano (Specifically Yosano in the OG universe). Because of his position at the time (Mafia boss and General) He had to choose his career over them (What the student ended up doing in the book to Elise.) After the great war had finished and Yosano had left him, he ended up making Elise a young girl instead of the adult she was in the war time and bases her off of Yosano's "strong willed" and kind of sassy personality. This was probably to make up for the fact he couldn't protect her and he knew that he chose his career so now he is projecting onto Elise. In beast, Elise is a grown woman because Mori is not the mafia boss, and so never chose his career over either Dazai or Yosano. Instead Dazai is now the PM boss. (After mori gave him his position) and he finally got to protect children like he wanted to do in the first place.
