SinceSince discovering I have endometriosis, I’ve been on a journey to advocate for my health. I underwent #excisionsurgery for my #endometriosis , and even though the doctor found additional issues, I remain determined to pursue healing naturally. I recently got a Groupon for acupuncture and other holistic treatments. After sharing my pain points with the doctor—bulging disk in my neck, weakness on my right side, and lower back discomfort, along with my surgery from November—I felt so relieved! I left the appointment feeling happy and grateful. I’ve already scheduled another visit for next week. For anyone interested, he accepts most insurance; my co-pay was only $15! 😭🙏🏽 #thankyouuniverse For those familiar with my story, you know the challenges I’ve faced—car accidents, spinal fusion, endometriosis, cysts, polyps, adenomyosis, endometriomas, and more. Stay tuned for part 2... 💯 #holistichealth #holistichealing #naturalremedys #spirituality #guerrera #diaries #holisticjourney #spinalfusion #surgerys #epidurals #naturalmedicine
talking about endo is still hard for me bc i always thought i’d just try to keep it under wraps from ppl for as long as i could. however, it is a progressive disease and with that progression i grow tired of pretending to be what i’m not and hiding my body. most days i’m wildly fatigued, have brain fog, abdomen pain that keeps me bedridden. it’s embarrassing bc i’m 26, but feel so sick most days i’m stuck under a heating pad. most endo patients will undergo not 1 but many many surgeries in their life as excision surgery is still treated as the “gold standard” for treatment unfortunately. there is no cure, and at this time there is no real research done for What causes endo in women. there’s cases of endo found in infants, in children and although most ppl believe endo only grows outside the uterus it can actually grow on almost any part of the body. the brain, the heart, the diaphragm, anywhere in the abdomen cavity….etc. it can adhere your organs to each other, and some patients even need surgeries like bowl resections bc endo can be deeply infiltrating. i’d just like to talk about endo more, and make more ppl aware about it if possible bc it took nearly two years for me to even get diagnosed, get surgery, and even still i deal with the chronic pain and complications of it all. if you have endo and are reading/watching this ooo do i see you. its so hard, you dont know what its like until you live with this disease. ppl still try to invalidate those with it and say endo is just “painful periods” but its sooo much worse than that.
