sausage in stuffing >> #thanksgivingstuffing

1 loaf French bread cubed and dried OR around 8 cups boxed bread cubes
5 links Italian sausage casings removed
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
4 celery stalks
1 small onion
1 cup mushrooms minced
4 cloves garlic
2 sprigs rosemary
3 sprigs thyme
2 cups chicken broth
1-2 Tbsp poultry seasoning
S&P to taste

If making your own bread cubes, cut up into bite size pieces and bake in oven at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove your sausage from casings and break into pieces in a pan. Remove once cooked through and add in butter. Add in veggies, season with salt and pepper and cook for a few minutes until they’ve sweat out. Add in garlic and herbs and cook another 2 minutes. Add back in sausage followed by bread cubes and chicken broth. The bread should be plump but not mushy, add more broth if needed. Season with poultry seasoning, S&P then transfer to a butter baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
