Women over 40, I get it!🙋🏼♀️ For me, I workout early, keep it simple, and to combine different fitness modalities so that I never get bored & I challenge my body and mind in different ways.💪🏻 This is how I stay consistent. It’s not complicated although it feels that way sometimes especially for women in pre or post menopause. All of a sudden what used to work doesn’t, right?😣 It can be so frustrating but the best part about this time in our lives is that LESS is MORE!👏🏻 Doing more (intensity) can be detrimental. Simple & effective strength training paired with mobility & some kind of mindfulness can be the perfect blend! If you don’t know where to start, I’m here to help! I’ve been teaching fitness & personal training for over 20 years & I have always used my personal experience with chronic pain & now, menopause to help my students & clients. People (trainers, teachers, etc) who have not walked a day in your shoes, although well intentioned, may not always be giving you (for your situation) the best advice. It’s not just about calories in vs calories out. It’s not just about progressive overload. It’s just about doing more cardio - in fact, less cardio might be better.
