Translations are typically the first transformation type that I teach. Translations maintain congruency, meaning the figure does not change size or shape. It simply moves. We call that Rigid Motion. You can write a rule of a translation that tells you how the shape moved. In this case the shape moved 3 units up (along the y-axis) and 6 units to the right (along the x-axis) . So in other words, the original x coordinate added 6 units and the original y coordinate added 3 units.
