3 OF THE BEST ICELANDIC RESTAURANTS IN REYKJAVIK! 📍Cafe Loki SUPER popular! I went during brunch and there was no wait. Most ordered is their “Loki” dish which comes with rye bread with mashed fish, trout, dried fish and the infamous FERMENTED SHARK! Renown for it’s stinky smell and terrible taste, people from all over the world come to take on this “challenge”. For us, the fermented shark didn’t taste bad at all! Cafe Loki was actually one of our cheapest meals in Iceland! $74.71 was the total cost including dessert! 📍Grillmarkadurinn Arrive for lunch for a table or have a reservation! We could only get seated at the bar since we didn’t have a reservation. It was cool actually because we were able to see the chefs cook. We ordered 1 appetizer, 1 beer and 2 lamb entrees for $160.44 (no dessert). The lamb was soo good, tender and cooked perfectly. Some of the best lamb I’ve had. I wish I tried other things on the menu to really give this restaurant a rating but the bill was getting expensive 😭😭 For now, it’s still a 4.5 for me. 📍Apotek Restaurant Located in the heart of Old Town in Reykjavik, we were simply denied entry without a reservation. He told us it would be a 3 hour wait cus they’re fully booked. We made a reservation for another night and did not regret it! The best meal i had in Iceland and also the most expensive $177.31. I highly recommend to get their 7 course meal, it comes with so many samplers - so you get to try everything! 4.8 out of 5 stars!
