Gym Anxiety. Let’s talk about it: It’s scary because you may feel out of place, everyone looks like they know what their doing, everyone is in groups, they’re in better shape. Fuck all that noise. Respectfully. Everyone starts somewhere, and if you keep putting your goals off, the horrid of starting something new will always be difficult because you’ll never get to a point of familiarity and comfort. If you don’t know where things are, it’s ok to walk around the gym to get familiar. Most gyms offer tours. If the gym is packed, find a small corner to yourself, and put on some good music and just get moving. It’s difficult when all equipment is being used, it throws your workout schedule off. If there’s anything life has taught me, it’s that no one path stays the same. Things are going to constantly happen to throw you off. So do you let a minor inconvenience deter you from your goals, or are you going to make due and figure it out? It’s you versus you. Always. If all you managed to do was get some bodyweight exercise in at the gym, I’m proud of you.
