SD Local’s Best Kept Secret is actually #1 Best Taco Spots in America as rated on Yelp in 2022 🌮 @edfernandezbirrieria sits in the community of Nestor on the South Bay Border in San Diego, CA. They specialize in making beef birria tacos and I can see why it’s so popular! I get the Ed Fernandez #1 combo for $21.50 which comes with a Taco, Chupacabra, Quesataco, and Quesataco Extremo. You can also get these individually but if you want a little piece of everything then the combo is where to go! All of the tacos use their slow-stewed beef birria but they all use different types of tortillas (that are handmade) which makes them a little more identifiable. Some of the tortillas are thicker, the quesatacos have the cheese melted on first, etc but all and all I think my favorite was the quesataco. Next time I want to try some of their menudo and maybe their quesatacos that come with an egg on top which is called the eggtremo.
