If you ever get freaked out about social invites, hectic schedules, or holidays ruining your progress, you need to read this. ‌ This past Sunday was my son's 4th birthday party. ‌ Then, this week we had leftovers laying around that I definitely picked at (had 3 cookies last night for no reason.) ‌ Halloween is today. I will likely have some candy. Tomorrow we are going to a friend's Halloween party, which will have food and drinks there. ‌ Saturday is my wife's birthday and she has requested donuts and some high calorie foods. ‌ My son's actual birthday is the NEXT day and he wants me to make homemade bolognese sauce, pasta, and he wants garlic bread. ‌ This is all crammed into ONE week. ‌ In all honesty, how much food anxiety would you have in this situation? How fearful would you be of losing progress? ‌ I am going to be completely transparent with you, I have ZERO food anxiety about it ‌ I also have ZERO fear of ruining my progress. ‌ How is this possible? ‌ My normal habits are consistent with maintaining a fit body ‌ Fitness is supposed to make your life MORE enjoyable, not less enjoyable. Weeks like this are able to be enjoyed guilt free when you have built solid daily habits the other weeks of the year. ‌ I am still doing my workouts and going for walks. ‌ This is called balance. ‌ Just because my nutrition will be “off” this week doesn't mean every single meal or day is a complete crap shoot and I miss workouts too. ‌ This is the lifestyle my clients are coached to build. ‌ Where fitness and food add value to your life instead of stress. Where you don't weigh every morsel of food or meticulously track every macro ‌ Where you enjoy celebrations without anxiety but also have the confidence to not completely sabotage yourself ‌ We get one life, and I truly believe being in great shape makes that life so much more enjoyable. ‌ The issue is that most people have been misled to believe that a fit life is a strict, joyless, anxiety driven existence ‌ Its not ‌ Its actually fun ‌ The secret is to craft the lifestyle you desire instead of just chasing the scale weight.
