Day 5 in this 7-day Tokyo Itinerary takes us on a day trip outside the city to Kamakura, a city by the seaside. There are beautiful temples & shrines, the famous Big Buddha landmark, and a shopping & eating street right next to the train station. There’s a direct train that leaves Shinjuku and arrives in Kamakura in just under an hour. A peaceful city to wander through when you need a break from the busy city life #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #kamakura

7 days in Tokyo, 7 unforgettable experiences. There is a ton to do in this city, where these were my favorites: 1. Attend a themed café: there are a ton of options, from robot to animal to Pokémon cafés 🦉 2. Day trip outside of Tokyo: trains are easy to use, where I loved visiting the seaside town of Kamakura ⛩️ 3. Learn about Chado, or tea ceremony: this workshop taught me the way of the tea in Japan, where you’ll also learn how to make matcha and try different kinds 🍵 4. Visit the temples: draw an omikuji for your fortune while you’re there 🥠 5. Experience teamLab: buy tickets in advance to reserve your time slot, and wear pants you can roll up as you’ll be walking through water ✨ 6. Explore DisneySea: an easy bus ride from Tokyo, and super walkable to finish in a day ⛰️ 7. See Tokyo from above: there are a few places to see the city from above, where Shibuya Sky was my favorite for a 360 open air view 🏙️ #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #japantravel

Visiting Japan for the first time can be a lot, especially when you don’t speak the language. Here are a few tips that made getting around easier when traveling around Tokyo for a week: 🚌 if your lodging is close to one of the airport limousine bus stops, take this for getting to and from the airport! Much easier than navigating the subway as the bus takes you directly to the airport 💳 add the Suica card to your phone, this is what’s used for buses, metro, and even at convenience stores like 7/11 🗺️ download Google maps and translate offline! I used the photo feature to translate menus and the voice feature when I needed to talk with locals 📱highly recommend a pocket wifi for short stays, chose this over switching out a SIM card and found it was super easy to use ✈️ there’s usually not much to do at airports, but I enjoyed exploring the one in Tokyo. There’s an outside area to see the planes, and tons of shops and restaurants #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #japantips

Tokyo has beautiful temples, like Sensō-ji in Asakusa. There are a lot of traditions I learned, like purifying yourself first at the water basin by the entrance, and bowing when praying inside the temple and when exiting the temple grounds. I noticed at many temples people were reading their omikuji, which is a fortune slip that can be drawn by: 🥠 shaking the metal tin and taking out a numbered stick 📄 matching the number to a drawer where you draw your fortune 🍀 if it’s good, take it with you as a lucky charm 🪢 if it’s not, tie it onto the designated rods so your troubles can be taken care of #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #omikuji #sensojitemple

Always looking for the best views of the city, so here are 3 free ones of Tokyo: 🏙️ Shibuya Hikarie has a great view of the city from the 11th floor - spot the Shibuya scramble crossing here! ⛩️ When in Asakusa, head to the Culture Tourist Information Center. There’s an open-air observatory deck on the 8th floor and you can spot Sensō-ji temple and the bustling Nakamise-dori Street ⛅️ For a 360 view of Tokyo, head to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for the observation deck on the 45th floor #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #tokyoviews

Day 7 in this 7-day Tokyo Itinerary takes us to an owl café and finding sky high views of the city 🏙️ 🏢For free views of the city, head to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. You’ll be able to see Tokyo from all sides, and can spot Mt. Fuji in the distance if skies are clear 🌌If you prefer an open-air observatory deck, head to Shibuya Sky! Tickets will sell out day of, so purchase them ahead of time. I went before 4PM, and discovered that since the rooftop bar wasn’t opened yet, we could sit on the couches and enjoy the city views 🦉Tokyo has a ton of animal cafés, from cat cafés to dogs, otters, and hedgehogs 🦔 this owl café was one of my favorite experiences. The owls and staff are all super friendly, and it was so much fun ending the day with them #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #owlcafetokyo #shibuyasky

Day 6 in this 7-day Tokyo Itinerary takes us to a fully immersive experience at teamLab Planets🪐 This is a popular activity in Tokyo, where I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Here’s what to know: 💧the exhibits are meant to engage all your senses - you’ll be walking through water, so wear something you can roll up to your knees! 🪞one exhibit has mirrored floors, so wear shorts under dresses & skirts 🔛there’ll be 2 different paths to choose from to start, doesn’t matter which one you choose first but I personally enjoyed the exhibits on the water side more and spent the most time there 🔒Lockers are available to store your shoes and bags before entering the exhibits ⏱️Your ticket grants you entry at a specific time, but there is no time limit once you’re inside (except for one exhibit) Afterwards, head to Ginza for some shopping & food. Many restaurants in Tokyo have a queue, so stop by the restaurant first, grab a ticket, and shop around Ginza to pass the time 🍣 #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #teamlab #teamlabplanets

Day 4 in this 7-day Tokyo itinerary takes us to eating down Tsukiji Market and shopping through Ginza. Some of my favorite eats at the market included tamagoyaki (slightly sweetened Japanese omelette), onigiri, cremia (unique soft serve flavor), and daifuku (stuffed mochi). After eating, walk over to Ginza for some shopping. There are a ton of clothing stores with Uniqlo’s flagship store there, as well as other speciality stores like Loft and Muji to pick up some souvenirs, household & beauty goods #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #tsukijifishmarket #ginza

Day 3 in this 7-day Tokyo itinerary takes us to DisneySea. Here’s everything to know. If you’re staying in Shinjuku, there’s a direct bus that takes you to DisneySea. The park already had a queue at 8:15AM and they start letting people in at 8:45. Grab your priority passes soon after you enter in the app! I went on a weekday and although there were still a lot of people, I was able to do most things I wanted to within the day #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #disneysea #disneyseatokyo

Day 2 in this 7-day Tokyo itinerary takes us to Asakusa, a historic neighborhood known for having Tokyo’s oldest temple Sensō-ji. Nakamise street leads up to the temple and is filled with traditional shops for buying souvenirs & crafts, as well as a ton of street food stalls. My favorite was the dango! Afterwards walk along the waterfront at Sumida Park and head over to Ueno Park and try a grilled eel unagi dinner #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary #asakusa #asakusatokyo

Exploring Tokyo for a week, starting off by wandering around Shibuya, Harajuku & ending the night in Shinjuku. Walked around everywhere to get a feel of the city on Day 1, and tried Japanese dishes like Katsudon, Okonomiyaki, a Michelin star ramen house, and discovered an obsession for dango #tokyo #tokyojapan #traveltokyo #japantrip #thingstodointokyo #tokyoitinerary

Panlong Tiandi opened up this year in Shanghai as part of an urban renovation project. It’s a vibrant place to explore, with tons of walkable trails and parks with unique architecture. The place feels modern, but you’re still able to find pieces of the ancient water town. There are tons of shops, restaurants & dessert cafés here, and will take a few hours to explore. A new must-visit place for me when visiting Shanghai #shanghai #panlongtiandi #travelasia
