On December 31 2020 the Mexican President issued a presidential decree calling for the use of genetically modified (GM) corn and to be phased out by the end of January 2024 for human consumption.

Banning GM corn was one of the Mexican president's campaign promises, he insisted that Mexico is a "sovereign free country" and that "we do not want GM”.

This is already prohibited in Mexico. That means that it's illegal to grow GMO corn with the intention to sell it into the marketplace.

Mexico is the second-largest importer of corn in the world after China, and much of the corn it buys comes from the United States.

More than 92% of the corn grown in the States is GMO. Mexico's ban will undoubtedly impact American farmers who grow GMO corn, and many of them are encouraging the U.S. government to intervene. 

I wonder if it will impact this guy known as the wealthy farmer. As of 2021 he has become the 2nd largest private owner of farmer land in the U.S. owning more than 260,000 acres and everyone wants to know why?

In doing this research I came across a National Geographic article about GMO and altered Food with SHOCKING information in small print under a picture taken of what they call “The Future of the Apple”. With this type of altered food experiments going on it makes me wonder if this is why the wealthy farmer bought all of this land? And if this could also be playing into the Mexico gmo corn ban,
