Umpqua Hot Springs is more than just a soak; it’s a natural wonder with a fascinating past.💧 These springs have been cherished for centuries by Indigenous tribes as a sacred place for healing.💫 The water is rich in silica and other minerals that create the insane formations you see today—vibrant terraces and thick mineral crusts that feel like stepping into another world.😍✨

The main pools are a popular spot, but the real hidden gems are the two lower pools by the river.💎 Most people think it’s just the river at the bottom because you can’t see these pools from the top, but trust us—they’re worth the trek.👌 It’s an easy hike to an unforgettable experience! While over 20 people crowded the upper pools, we had the lower ones completely to ourselves. Imagine soaking in peace with the sound of the rushing river and the ancient forest surrounding you.🌊🌲

Would you make the trek off the beaten path to find these secluded hot springs?♨️🌿

✨Moss-terpiece✨️🥹 Moss walls, moss floors, moss carpets, moss boulders— tell us who was your designer? Oh wait, it’s the ultimate sustainable eco-artist, mother eARTh herself.😉 She’s been perfecting moss’s style and function for over 500 million years, and it shows!😍 Here’s the wild thing: Mosses offset more carbon than ALL the trees in the world combined.🤯 But that’s just scratching the surface of their superpowers. In nature, mosses: 🌱Purify the air: Absorbing pollutants like carbon dioxide and nitrogen, moss keeps the air fresh and clean. 💧Prevent erosion: Acting like nature’s carpet, moss anchors soil in place, even during heavy rains. 🌡Regulate moisture: Moss absorbs water like a sponge and releases it slowly, keeping ecosystems balanced. 🌎Cool the environment: Moss helps lower temperatures in forests, wetlands, and urban areas where it grows. 🐝Support biodiversity: It creates a safe haven for insects, fungi, and microbes, all of which are essential to thriving ecosystems. 💚Store nutrients: Moss traps and holds nutrients in the soil, paving the way for other plants to grow—even in harsh conditions. Moss isn’t just a quiet overachiever; it’s a keystone species!🔑 That means ecosystems rely on it to stay healthy and balanced.⚖ Without moss, countless other species would struggle to survive. It’s like the foundation of a bridge, small but vital to holding everything together.💫 The texture of Moss is like velvet combined with a cloud!🤤 Soft, squishy, and somehow ALIVE! It’s impossible to walk past without stopping to run your fingers through it, give it a squish, or a hug!🤗 Every time you touch it, it feels like it's hugging you back! Hehe We pet the moss in almost every clip, and honestly? It’s become a full-on ritual.✨️ Moss is one of our love languages!😋💚 Do you pet moss whenever you see it, or is it just us?😅 #moss #mosses #mossesofinstagram #mosswall #mosscarpet #nature #naturefacts #natureknowledge #themoreyouknow #funfacts #ecosystems #ecosystem #microcosm #eco #ecotourism #ecofriendly #sustainable #sustainableart #mossart #mosslover #mosslovers #mosslove #ilovemoss #welovemoss #washington #washingtonstate #pnw #pnwwonderland

fun fact this waterfall is runoff from a rice field, we 100% would have gotten really ill if we didnt filter the water. Most of the water in bali isnt safe to drink even from the tap. We used our Grayl waterbottle filter for an entire month and never got sick while drinking from multiple water sources. Most filters are really hard to drink through but since the grayl filters the water into a seprate chamber its like drinking out of a regular water bottle. Ours got stolen at the end of our bali trip but we bought a new one immediately. I will never not bring my Grayl when I go on adventures. #travel #bali #explore #hiddengem #waterfall #adventure #hiking #nature #indonesia #art #grayl #fyp

Every surface on Earth is covered in bacteria—including us. We are bacteria, part of the same living, breathing system as the fungi, the moss, and the microbes in the soil. So why fight it?🍄 Somewhere along the way, we were taught to fear the dirt under our nails, to recoil from the slimy and the strange. But out here, in the damp, tangled wild where life is constantly breaking down and rebuilding itself, we remember—nature isn’t just something to observe. It’s something to be a part of.💫 But the urge to go feral? Yeah, that never really went away.😏 Slime mold pulses, jelly fungi glistens, and hidden beneath the forest floor, unseen networks are working, thriving, and communicating.🌐 We press our fingers into the earth, feel the stickiness of tree sap, pop the delicate skins of slime ball mushrooms, and watch as the wild world responds.🤗 It clings to us, stains our hands, seeps into our skin—not separate from us, but made of the same essence.✨️ Do you ever feel the primal pull to sink your hands into the earth and let it claim you for a while?👀 Drop a 🌱 if you get it, and follow us for more wild encounters!🥰 We’re here to remind you that the wild isn’t something separate—it’s home. If you crave the feeling of dirt on your skin and the strange beauty of the untamed, you’re in the right place. Follow along and reconnect with the raw, living world—because we were never meant to be tamed.🌿😉 #feral #dirty #dirtyhands #mushrooms #mushroomlove #mushroomhunter #mushroomart #mushie #mushies #sensory #sensoryplay #sensoryplayideas #playoutside #slime #slimey #slimevideo #slimevideos #bacteria #messy #connectwithnature #connectwithyourself #wearenature

That awkward moment when you get caught having deep, emotional moments with moss.😂 One minute, you're bonding with nature—next thing you know, a hiker rounds the corner, and you’re just standing there, caressing the moss like it's a long-lost friend.🥹 Anyone else ever get caught mid-moss appreciation?😅 Tag a fellow moss enthusiast and let us know we're not alone!😜🌿 #moss #mossy #mosses #mosslove #mosslover #mosslovers #mosswall #mosscarpet #mosscore #mossconnect #mossyoak #mossart #mosswallart #mossyforest #mosstok #mossgarden #mossyforest #mossterrarium #mossball #mossoro #relatable #funny #funnymemes #meme #memes #capcuttemplate #obiwankenobi #pacificnorthwest #pnw #pnwwonderland

Send this to your mushroom-loving Valentine🍄❤️ The girls have gone feral, and there’s no turning back!👣😜 Gone are the days of perfectly manicured aesthetics and city life—now it’s muddy boots, foraging baskets, and an encyclopedic knowledge of edible fungi. “Girl Moss” is the new “Girl Boss,” and honestly, who needs a corner office when you can have a favorite patch of moss in the woods?😉 We’re trading spreadsheets for spore prints, and mossy forest floors make for much better seating than office chairs anyway.👌🌿 Flowers are beautiful, but have you ever received a bouquet that could potentially feed you, heal you, or send you on a vision quest?😏 With over 400,000 species of flowers and an estimated 2-4 million species of fungi, there’s a whole other world of beauty out there.✨️🍄 If love is about deep connection, growth, and standing strong through the seasons, then mushrooms are an even better symbol than flowers for Valentine’s Day.😉 They don’t just bloom and fade—they form lasting, hidden bonds beneath the surface, supporting entire ecosystems, just like a strong relationship does.💏 So maybe a bouquet of mushrooms isn’t just a gift—it’s a reminder of the hidden magic in the world, the incredible intelligence of nature, and the way all life is woven together.🍃 Would you prefer a bouquet of mushrooms over flowers?😏 Tell us in the comments 🍄 or 💐! If you love connecting with the wild, foraging, and appreciating the overlooked beauty in nature, follow us for more ways to stay Perpetually Immersed in the magic of the earth.🌿🌲✨️ #mushrooms #mushroomlove #mushroomsoup #mushies #valentine #valentines #valentinesday #valentinegift #valentinegifts #valentinegiftideas #feral #moss #partner #couple #funny #share #sendthistoyourcrush #sendthistoyourbestfriend

You think your journey was rough?🐟💀 Salmon are built different. They spend years in the ocean, swimming thousands of miles, only to fight their way back against raging currents, dodge predators, launch themselves up waterfalls, and finally—after all that—spawn and die. The ultimate sacrifice.☠️ But here’s some good news: The biggest dam removal in history just happened! In the last year, the Klamath River has been reopened, restoring access to ancient spawning grounds that salmon haven’t reached in over 100 years. Four massive dams were demolished, allowing the river to flow freely for the first time in a century. This means salmon can finally return to the cold, oxygen-rich waters where their ancestors once laid eggs—waters they were meant to reach.🌊💫 Salmon are nature’s ultimate navigators. They can detect Earth's magnetic field to find their way home, and once they get close, they use their sense of smell to pinpoint the exact stream where they were born.🤯 Once they arrive, they stop eating entirely, using only stored energy to power their final journey. Some species even change color—sockeye turn bright red, while male pink salmon develop a massive humped back and hooked jaws to fight for mates. Then, after spawning, they die—fertilizing the river with their bodies, creating a nutrient cycle that feeds entire ecosystems.♻️ Watching them leap through crystal-clear water in this canyon felt like witnessing something ancient, something instinctual—something way too intense for a fish.😅 Do you think you could make it upstream if your life depended on it?🤔 Drop a 🐟 in the comments if you’re rooting for the salmon! Share with your Valentine!😉💚 There’s something undeniably satisfying about running your fingers over soft, lush moss. It’s like nature’s velvet—cool, pillowy, and alive!✨️ Touching moss isn’t just about the texture; it’s about connection. Connection to the earth, to the present moment, and to the person beside you.💏 Moss and love have more in common than you might think. Both thrive in the right conditions—patience, care, and the right environment to grow.🌿 They don’t demand attention, but when you slow down and notice them, they become impossible to ignore. Moss is resilient, growing in the harshest of places, just like love finds its way through life’s toughest seasons. It weaves itself into the landscape, holding everything together, much like love strengthens the bonds between people.🫶 And let’s be honest—if someone said, "Are you moss? Because I want to touch you," you’d either find it ridiculously charming or be at a complete loss for words. Either way, it’s a bold move.😂 Just remember, touch moss the way you want to be touched—gently, with appreciation, and with extra love.💚 Have you ever stopped to touch moss on a hike? Or felt love grow in the most unexpected places? Tell us in the comments!🥰👇 Stay perpetually immersed with us!🤗💫 P.S. This was inspired by the @usfws nature themed Valentines.
