7 years as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist 🫀 Still feels like yesterday when I was studying to pass the comprehensive exams and was interviewing for jobs... fast forward to 7 years later I get to help patients in our virtiual cardiac rehab program! Here's a recap of my CEP career so far: 🩺 Fall 2014: Started grad school -- 2 full years in this program that consisted of 2 internships 🩺 Fall 2015: 1st internship as a Cardiopulmonary Rehab intern at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL 🩺 Spring 2016: 2nd internship as a Cardiac Rehab & Diagnostics intern at Northwestern Memorial Hospital 🩺 Late summer 2016: graduated with my Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology 🩺 Fall 2016: started my 1st job as an Exercise Physiologist in the stress testing department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital 🩺 Spring 2021: left Chicago and moved to Colorado, started my 2nd job as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in the stress testing department at Kaiser Permanente 🩺 Summer 2021: passed the ACSM-CEP Certification Exam within 6 months of hire on my first try 🩺 Early winter 2023: Transitioned to a CEP role in virtual cardiac rehab and began the building process of the program 🩺 Summer 2023: got the opportunity to speak at the 2023 ACSM Annual Meeting in Denver 🩺 Late summer 2023: our virtual cardiac rehab program goes live!
