Court cleaning day! đŸ§Œ

The court was getting pretty dirty and needed a good wash. I was surprised with how much stuff was coming off 😳

Special thanks to @tnt_epoxy for coming out and helping me! Our water pressure wasn’t great so it was a bit tricky. We used a “water broom” and two 50ft hose to get the job done. The result was pretty good!

Nothing quite like a fresh set of crispy green boys. I felt like the ball machine was getting pretty dusty inside and the old balls were due for a retirement. I was surprised how different the bounce of the new balls were! Definitely a bit faster with more pronounced spin. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Titan lately and been testing out the new beta app they’re releasing soon. Can’t wait to share it with you guys— it’s really nice. — 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily content 🔗 product links in profile đŸ™ŒđŸŒ Discount Code: EDJU . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball #pickleballdrills

My thoughts on the Furlihong 680PBH. I first saw this concept from someone using one for tennis and I instantly knew this would be winner if there was one for Pickleball. This is it. Game changing. The ball feeds are flat and slow, very similar to if a coach was hand feeding you a ball so you can work on a specific stroke. The machine: Not too much crazy tech here. You can adjust the feed speed, altitude, and oscillation. It’s a bit loud, I think they can make a machine that has quieter motors. But for the price, this does the job. The net: I think the aesthetics of the net can be definitely improved. It also should have some sort of Velcro that sticks to the machine feed so it doesn’t move around when dropping balls. I also wish the bottom lip of the net catcher was actually the height of a pickleball net to give you a visual of where to hit. Luckily, but mini net set up integrates perfectly with the machine so I just put that in front of the machine. Overall the net design is works, but sometimes the balls get caught if the feed gets misaligned. Easy fix with Velcro. All in all, this thing is legit and definitely here to stay in the pickle cave. P.S. found out on livestream yesterday that Ninja balls work in it! 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily pickleball content đŸ™ŒđŸŒ Amazon link in profile . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballtips #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball

Last weekend I got to meet Tammy and Martin Emmrich, two INCREDIBLE pros who compete on tour. They are a FOUNTAIN of knowledge. Watching their technique up close and personal was such a treat and I learned so many new details that unlocked a new perspective for me. I can’t fit everything into shortform reels, but we did record two episodes for YouTube! I just released episode 1 on YT if you want to to check it out. The YT link is in my bio. And make sure to follow @teamemmrich to follow their pro journey! — . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #edjupickleball #pickleballtips #pickleballlessons

Your Daily Pickleball Drill 👇 When I first started playing pickleball, one of the things I got my butt kicked in all the time was hand battles. The ball would come so fast and I had no idea how to deal with them. Even if I got one or two back, they came back even faster! Very early on, I made it a point to get faster hands and reflexes. A few key things I learned were: 1. Ultra compact punches. Barely even moving so I can be ready for the next one. 2. Prioritize hitting down over hitting hard. Angles and placement pave the way to winners. 3. Stay balanced and always expect the ball to come back. âžĄïž Send this drill to your training partner and save this video for later — 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily pickleball content Paddle: Aero Metallic @holbrookpickleball Code EDJU for 15% off Link in my bio . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball #pickleballtips #pickleballdrills

⚠ If your shots are going into the net, the issue is most likely not getting the paddle under the ball enough. ✅ Slow everything down— really emphasize letting the paddle head dip below the ball. With the right contact point and follow through, you’ll notice a HUGE difference. A little bit of practice each day and it’ll only get better and better! 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily content . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball #pickleballtips

The sweet spot trainers from Holbrook are AWESOME. 10/10 recommend. One of the biggest issues that I see when players try and serve harder is: their accuracy goes DOWN— they end up mishitting the ball or missing the sweet spot ever so slightly, resulting in a less ideal serve or a serve right into the net altogether. Practicing with a sweet spot trainer LOCKS you in to where you SHOULD be hitting. The only surface area you have available is the exact spot you should be hitting on a normal paddle. When you go back to your regular paddle, you will notice a HUGE difference. The quality, sound, and depth of your serves might surprise you! Sometimes we get into bad habits of hitting our drops too soft or our dinks too hard. The slinky drill is a great way to re-calibrate your soft game and dial in your touch. Thinking about drops as “long-ranged dinks” can help you to simplify your movements and make your strokes more compact. The goal here is to develop consistency and build muscle memory of how to hit unattackable balls from each area of the court. Try this with your drilling partner and let me know how it goes! — 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily content Paddle: Aero Metallic @holbrookpickleball Code EDJU for 15% off Link in my bio . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball #pickleballtips

I was working with one of my students this morning and we made a pretty awesome break through in improving his groundstrokes. He came from a tennis background and I could immediately tell he had incredible power. However, the issue was inconsistency and his power not translating into his shots— some were into the net, out, or shanked wide. I had him sit in a chair, an exercise taught to me by @yourpickleballbf and @phucy_pb . The idea of this exercise is to limit our lower and upper body movement. This forces our stroke to be compact with minimal backswing. You can hear the first few shots sounded off and there wasn’t much pace to the ball. But by the 4th shot, you can hear that he found the sweet spot and ideal contact point. The result was a thunderous crack. Try this exercise for yourself to help improve your strokes. It might feel awkward at first, but it will tell you immediately how efficient you are. — 👉 follow @edjupickleball for daily content . . . . . #pickleballislife #pickleball #pickleballaddiction #edjupickleball #pickleballtips

Mari’s backhand flicks are from another dimension. Let me tell you guys, it’s way harder to read and keep up than what it might seem on TV. Sometimes I’ll be watching pro pickleball from the couch and I’ll think “yeah I can probably keep up on a good day” 😂 It was such a cool experience meeting Mari and I learned so much! I just posted our full backhand flick lesson on YouTube.
