đą My Garden Saved the Day!!
.
Yâall, I had a moment yesterday! I was about to start cooking when I realized that I had no greens in the house to bring in the New Year! As you already know, in the South, New Yearâs without greens is basically unheard of. đŤŁ
.
.
But then I rememberedâmy small but mighty garden was out there waiting for me! I grabbed my shears and picked some gorgeous kale and turnip greens!
.
.
I kept it simple. I sautĂŠed them in olive oil with some garlic and onions, and it was so good. The greens were tender, flavorful, and packed with that homegrown goodness.
.
.
Leafy greens like kale and turnip greens are more than just a New Yearâs traditionâthey contain so many nutritious benefits!
â¨ď¸They Are Rich in Nutrients: Loaded with vitamins A, C, and K, plus minerals like calcium and potassium.
â¨ď¸They Help to Keep Our Immune Systems Functioning Properly. Those antioxidants help protect your body from oxidative stress and inflammation.
â¨ď¸They're Versatile & Delicious: Whether sautĂŠed, blended into smoothies, or tossed in salads, greens add flavor, texture, and nutrition to any meal.
.
.
I love how my little garden keeps surprising me with its ability to come through in moments like these. Itâs a reminder to pause and appreciate the nourishment we can grow with a little love and care!

¡12h ago đWhew⌠this trend hit me deep. Writing this had me feeling all the emotions because I remember being 'her.' The girl who thought she had to shrink herself to be loved. The girl who was waiting for a text, for validation, for permission to take up space. . . But hereâs the thingâwhere you are right now is not an indication of where youâll end up. Sometimes, we have to walk through some very tough moments to prepare us for a lifetime of comfort & peace. Every heartbreak, every struggle, every doubt is reshaping you, refining you, and making you stronger for whatâs to come. . . Every day is a chance to grow, learn, and step into the version of yourself thatâs waiting on the other side of fear. #BodyPositive #Healing #WorthyAtAnySize #dietitian #blackdietitian #selflove #selfcare

¡6d ago â¨ď¸Quick & Easy Breakfast Idea! â¨ď¸ . Some mornings call for simplicity, and thatâs exactly why I love this super easy, breakfast ideaâyogurt and cereal! Itâs quick, nourishing, and the perfect balance of protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals. . . When making this easy breakfast, I suggest choosing a whole grain cereal, which is a great way to boost your fiber intake and support digestion. Plus, many whole grain cereals are fortified with key nutrients like B vitamins, iron, and folate, which are important for energy production and overall well-being. . . Pairing the cereal with yogurt adds a source of protein, calcium, and probiotics, which helps to support muscle health, bone strength, and gut health. And if you want to take it up a notch, top it with fresh fruit for extra fiber and antioxidants or a sprinkle of nuts for some healthy fats! . . This combo takes less than 5 minutes to put together, making it an ideal option for those busy mornings. So if you need a quick and nutritious breakfast that doesnât require any cooking, give this one a try! Whatâs your go-to quick breakfast? ¡2-5đHappy Body Positive Month!!𩷠. Did you know that body positivity is more than a hashtagâitâs a movement rooted in justice, equality, and the right for all bodies to be treated with dignity?! . . As a body-positive dietitian, I believe itâs important to recognize this history, challenge the ways diet culture has co-opted the movement, and ensure that body positivity remains a space for true inclusivity and change. . . Body positivity isnât JUST about loving yourselfâitâs about dismantling fatphobia in healthcare, media, and everyday life. Itâs about advocating for equal access, representation, and respect for ALL bodies, especially those that continue to be marginalized. . .
