It’s right out a Studio Ghibli anime film 😍 this is Takachiho Gorge in Miyazaki, Japan and its gorgeous! It’s rural here and a lot less touristy than other parts of Japan. There is lots of shrines and temples to pass. There is also some little cafes and shops to get some Japanese snacks from. You can even rent one of the boats and sail along the river (if the weather is on your side). You can fly into Fukuoka from Osaka or Tokyo. I hate to say it as a Scotsman who loves a Scottish puff pastry steak pie but this short crust pastry steak and ale pie is on of the best I’ve had! 😍 This is the Great North Pie Co and it’s in Ambleside in the Lake District and they’ve won a ton of awards for their pies so obv we had to try! Andy Murray the Wimbledon tennis champion is also a hotelier?! 🎾 This is the 5 star Cromlix House Hotel in Dunblane where the Murray’s grew up! With it being a 5 star hotel, it ofc is a luxury hotel but the staff aren’t pretenious which is a great plus! 😌 We ate in the Glasshouse which is their casual dining space where they serve lunch, afternoon tea and light bites and it’s great for a wee treat with the fam! The Pier Cafe in Stirling boasts some of the most stunning views of Loch Katrine we have ever seen😍🤩. Once we saw @Ashley & Stuart 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 visit we had to go. It’s around a 1 hour drive from Glasgow and it’s pretty near Aberfoyle. The mist along with the surrounding pine forests gave it a kind of Twilight vibe 🌲. Taketomi, Okinawa is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Japan🌺🏝️. It is one of the most southern islands in Japan and the closest thing to a tropical paradise we’ve ever seen. The waters were crystal clear and you could see all the fish swimming around your feet. The mountain of Melon shaved ice and cold melon noodles were also a highlight of the trip 🍈.
