Common gym myths that I used to believe as a gym beginner…. 1. Volume is not the main driver of hypertrophy, but actually mechanical tension. If you train with high intensity and frequency you will need far less volume than you think 2. Soreness is not an indication of muscle growth. Some soreness is fine and can occur, but you can still have effective gym workouts without being sore the next day. Don’t worry too much about muscle soreness, its not a key factor. 3. You dont need to train 6-7 days per week to make great progress. In fact, 3 or 4 day splits can be very very effective for muscle gain, assuming you program them correctly. Full body splits or upper/lower, or any type of split where you hit each body part 2-3x per week will work well. Any more you can think of? Want to grow your lower lats? Do more wide grip pull ups 🔑 If you can’t do bodyweight pull ups, then don’t worry, assisted pull ups will work very well too. A bicep exercise that is a waste of time……bicep “21s”. I got asked about these the other day and while they do give u a decent pump that doesn’t mean that will lead to or cause muscle growth.
