The cold weather in Cape Town has me craving a little comfort from the inside and my LEGENDARY Malva Pudding is just the thing to satisfy the craving đ¤¤â¨â¨Malva Puddingâ¨Recipe by Sebastian Newmanâ¨â¨Ingredients:
For the pudding
400g sugar
4 eggs
4 TBS Apricot Jam
300g Flour
2 t Bicarb
Pinch salt
60g Butter
2 Tbs vinegar
200ml milk
For the sauce
200g sugar
300ml cream
200ml water
200g butter
Method:
Preheat oven to 180C.
Prepare sponge by whisking together eggs and sugar, till light and fluffy. Add the apricot jam
Sift together the dry ingredients, set aside. Melt the butter and stir in the vinegar.
Add to the egg mixture alternatively with the milk and flour. Place into preheated oven for 30-35min, until cooked through.
While the sponge bakes, prepare the sauce, by boiling together all the ingredients.
Once the sponge comes out of the oven, poke holes into the sponge and pour over the hot sauce.
Serve with custard.

¡2023-10-2Thereâs nothing that beats tradition, and nothing says tradition like Bisto Gravy I used it to whip up this easy and oh so delicious Steak Poutine Fries. Try it, I promise it's GOOD đ´ Recipe: 3 Potatoes, cut into fries 1 Onion, sliced 1 Sirloin Steak, oiled & seasoned 40g butter, cubed 2 - 3 Tablespoons Bisto Original Gravy 300ml water 2 tablespoons garlic 80g Mozzarella Cheese, grated 10g Fresh Parsley, chopped Fry your potatoes in hot oil, drain on a paper towel and season as desired. I used Truffle Salt in this case. In a pan fry your steak to your desired doneness and set aside to rest before slicing. Into the same pan add some butter & onions and fry until translucent in colour, add in your garlic and then allow a few minutes to fry. Into the pan sprinkle Bisto Original Gravy and water and whisk until thickened. To assemble, put fries on an ovenproof dish, top with the gravy and grated cheese and place into a preheated oven for about 3-5 minutes for the cheese to melt. Remove from oven and top with the steak before finishing with chopped parsley. #BistoOriginal #Ad
