Moosey is doing better - he’s only had a couple breakouts since we started with meds and medicated baths (i use an ice bath tub from @target) He gets more testing done this upcoming week, we’re still thinking it’s autoimmune since he still looks reddish. but his hair is growing back!! He’s sleeping through the night again, his hip is doing better too, some days are better than others but i haven’t had to carry him up the stairs anymore and as you can see he’s playing again and acting more like Moosey. Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes and supported, Moose is by far the baby of my family so it’s been a stressful time for sure. Moose’s skin condition is improving with his baths and medication, but this morning he randomly started showing signs of extreme pain in his hips :( He was crying, limping, kind of crossing his legs to support himself, had his tail tucked between his legs, not letting me even touch his lower back/hips and couldn’t make it up the stairs without me carrying him. I took him to urgent care and we got him meds (gabapentin), but are pretty stumped at how the hip problems are now coming into play. i’m wondering if he has something going with his immune system that’s affecting his hips and skin, and the skin isn’t the primary condition but a symptom. Gearing up for what will be a long road to recovery and figuring out what works and doesn’t, but will keep everyone posted. Next steps are managing this hip pain, figuring out the cause of it, and getting into the dermatologist for more testing.
