So this is the moment that I blindfolded all my guests, and I walked down the aisle on my #wedding day… Myself and Ollie thought it would be a really good idea to blindfold him as well, as when I got to the end, and my dad passed my hand to Ollie he was able to feel my wedding dress in the exact way that I felt it when I first had it on. This was such an important experience for us both even though Ollie isn’t blind, but we thought it was really important for him and all of my guests to experience what it’s like for me in the most important moment of our life so far. As you can see me, Ollie and my dad are really struggling to hold it together. It was such an emotional moment and one that I will remember for the rest of my life. I am so lucky that I have a husband that accepts me for exactly who I am my disability and everything. The whole me. I walked down the aisle to arrival of the birds by @The Cinematic Orchestra, as this is the song at the end of one of my favourite films, the Theory of Everything. Stephen Hawking has been a massive role model in my life and I always cry at the end of that movie at his final monologue. I really believe in the philosophy that we are all just small beings and atoms on this massive planet and Stephen taught me that you can love and hate your disability equally, and that’s a truly beautiful thing. It’s a sense of self that I’ve had to work on and I felt truly independent when walking down the aisle with my dad to this song. This is quite an emotional and raw moment to share with you guys, but I thought it was so important as it’s not a typical way that a bride walks down the aisle but it was my way. Just remember you are so special and you don’t have to follow traditions if you don’t want to. Our wedding day is about you and the person that you love and every moment needs to feel right for you. Thank you to the amazing harpist @Amie True Music (gifted) for playing the main melody along with the 3D audio speakers from Delta Live that we had up the aisle so we could have immersive sound. Ollie made an arrangement so I could hear where I was. Every step I took the music evolved and so did the flowers! A truly blind experience!

Why is it so important to see Blind characters in storybooks? I asked the wonderful Betsy as an 11-year-old blind person what she thought. I was so happy to talk to her about Ella Jones Vs The Sun Stealer because Ella is such an independent 12-year-old blind hero that I would’ve loved to have seen when I was Betsy‘s age. I wanted Ella to exist in this world because when I was younger, I didn’t have any blind heroes to look up to that were just like me but now Ella exists and I feel so emotional that Betsy can have that representation I never did. I can’t believe today is launch day! Feb 13th felt like a long time coming but now it’s finally here! I am forever grateful to my amazing publishers @Scholastic UK and of course my lovely co-writer Katy Birchall ❤️ if you guys know anyone who would enjoy this book it’s available to buy right now. Still pinching myself that we have the same illustrators as Skandar and The Unicorn Thief. The link to purchase is in my bio ❤️ And I wanted to extend a thank you to the @RNIB for connecting me and Betsy and printing the Braille version of Ella Jones Vs The Sun Stealer. I’m so excited on the launch day of this amazing book that I am announcing that I’m now an RNIB ambassador! United, we want to show that you don’t just have to survive, you can thrive as a blind person. I can’t wait to make even more of a difference together!   #EllaJonesVsTheSunStealer #Blind #TIL #Representation

How does a blind girl meal prep? I’m so thankful that Ollie helped me stick all this braille onto magnets I bought from Amazon so I could work out what dishes are in my freezer that we’ve previously made. I don’t know what I’d do without this system and it took us quite a while to figure out. I hope this helps any of you out there wanting to label and organise. Got to love a bit of Tofoo! 😍 (not spon!) #MealPrep #MealPrepping #MealPrepIdeas

Why Braille is so important on my make up products I feel like I can conquer the world when I have Braille on everything. I remember how I fell almost 12 years ago, losing my eyesight completely and stepping into the supermarket. I felt so alone and every bottle just felt the same. It’s getting better each day and I’m so lucky that I have Braille stickers so I have the independence and freedom to choose what I wear every morning. Technology and braille are the best and I love being blind in 2025. Seeing all the developments in accessibility makes me feel so hopeful for the future and it’s such an amazing time to be blind. AD How does a blind girl dye her hair? I’ve only seen myself as a blonde or a brunette but never a redhead but I feel most myself this way! My hair is my identity and I love this @Garnier good hair dye to refresh my colour 😍 #GarnierGOOD #makeitGOOD #Garnier Audio description: as Lucy says ‘how does a blind girl dye her hair? You see the transformation from brown roots and faded red to vibrant and shiny copper. Photos of Lucy with blonde hair and brown hair before she lost her eyesight are shown. Lucy picks up Garnier GOOD hair dye then sits down in her bathroom, mixes up the colour, applies it to her hair with gloves and then puts her hair up in a bun. The dye is a dark purple colour, Lucy shows the camera her purple hands. Lucy washes out the colour and applies a shea butter nourishing mask. Lucy smiles at the camera showing the end result, shiny, coppery, gorgeous hair!

I can’t see myself, so be my eyes and pick an outfit with me for my business meeting💛 I go through phases, and I don’t know if anyone else can relate… Some days I feel like a hot ass woman, others I feel different and some I just want to hang out in my tracksuit with no bra on all day. I think I feel the most Lucy when I have lovely textures on and neutrals that I can pair with lots of things so I don’t have to think too much about my clothes. 2025 is about finding my style as a powerful business woman who owns a Makeup brand!!! I would love it if you could comment one, two or three on which look you like the best. Thank you so much in advance for helping me out and I hope this gives you the confidence to buy a power woman suit of your own!! Outfit 1 description: A suede dusty pink bomber jacket over a slightly glossy grey vest top paired with wide leg black trousers and open toed heels. Complete with a gold, sunburst shield necklace. Outfit 2: A brown blazer and wide leg trouser suit complete with a cream low cut vest top and the same shoes and necklace as before. Outfit 3: a burnt orange, almost red cardigan style jumper with a low cut slit and big collar. Paired with black ankle boots and a black midi skirt with lace on the bottom. Oh and a golden book to complete the look! @Pull&Bear @RavenJamesJewellery @asos @Primark #Fashion #Outfit #OOTD #HelpMeDecide #TryOn

I am Blind. Let’s talk about DEI after Trump‘s latest comments… I wanted to start by defining Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as there are a lot of misconceptions floating around the internet. DEI does not mean hiring someone that’s not qualified or unable to do the job, it means that employers are encouraged to hire diverse talent from different backgrounds to change company culture for the better. After all, you don’t know what you don’t know and accessing a different pool of talent is beneficial both for the bottom line and for workplace morale and confidence. In Trump’s first few days in office, he has dismantled DEI policies and legislation and has spoken about encouraging private companies to do the same. As a disabled woman whose predecessors have fought tirelessly for me and others to live in a fairer and more equal society, although not perfect, having the world’s largest economy go backwards in this way makes my heart heavy and worried for the future. Trump specifically focuses on disabilities when talking to the press in wake of the tragic accident in Washington that took 67 lives. Without evidence he levels an accusation that disabled workers are unfit for high level positions within the FAA. In 2019 the FAA stated that candidates will receive the same rigorous consideration in terms of aptitude, medical and security qualifications. It’s tiring to have to justify your aptitude just because of your disability all the time. It’s something I have to face all the time because there are so many stereotypes about how disabled people live our lives. Since Obama introduced DEI policies for the FAA in 2011, accidents in the air have reduced. This was a terrible accident that needs investigating but it's not the fault of DEI hiring policy. #DEI #FAA #Trump #DisabledRights #WashingtonDC

Love Island, but if everyone is blind 🧑‍🦯👩‍🦯💖🏝️ Audio description: Lucy and Reece speak to the camera. Lucy has sunglasses on and Reece wears a sequinned Hawaiian shirt with the backwards cap and sunnies on. Scene one: Reece and Lucy sit with a backdrop that looks like a sun lounger in the villa. Lucy holds a water bottle and Reece holds a pineapple Jelly Cat toy with a straw. Scene 2: Ollie bench presses with a long white cane and Reece looks away. Scene 3: Lucy and Reece are back on the sun lounger bed. Scene 4: as Ollie says Casa Amore as he holds up a long white came, but in the folded position, but spins one section above his head like a Helicopter. Reece looks disappointed. Scene five: Lucy and Reece are back on the Sun lounge bed, but it cuts to different shots of Sophy walking in with Flip-flop socks on iconic. Sophy wears jeans and a crop top and has blonde hair. There are cutaway shots as she describes her eyes against a green screen backdrop like the one in the love Island studio, glittery with love letters behind. Scene six: we see Reece outside on his own by a pond. There is a goose behind him, and he walks with his cane towards the pond. #LoveIsland #LoveIsland2025 #LoveIslandUK #LoveIslandAllStars

Guys, the day has arrived to show you my book cover for Ella Jones Vs The Sun Stealer - it’s so beautiful and I cannot wait for you to read it (AD). Myself and Katy Birchall have worked so hard making this the best adventure story for you and your little ones. I’ve always wanted to see a blind main character saving the world who’s just a normal kid. I felt anything but normal at Ella’s age and I wanted anyone reading to feel like they see themselves in Ella and can relate to her 💛 it would be amazing if you could pre-order - link is in my bio right now 💛 it comes out Feb 13th 💛 Cover description: We have Ella - gorgeous red hair swirling around her head, dressed in jeans and a blue t-shirt - and her guide dog Maisie within a sunburst holding device. The background is in shades of red and bright white light to signify danger and drama. Maisie is looking up at Ella and Ella looks determined and brave. The perspective is as if a camera is at ground level, looking up at them, for extra dynamism. #Book #EllaJones #ChildrensBook #AdventureBook #Booktok
