·5d ago Budget travel is not for the weak🥵 Here’s how to handle bedbugs & fleas in cheap hotels: ✅ Check reviews: If multiple guests mention bugs, book elsewhere! ❌ Look for signs: Tiny black dots or blood spots on sheets = bad news.
❌ Inspect the mattress: Look in seams and corners for bugs before sleeping.
❌ Don’t put luggage on the floor: Use a rack or keep it in the bathtub to avoid hitchhikers.
❌ Wash everything ASAP: Hot water & high heat kill critters.
❌Treat bites: Always pack anti-itch cream + antihistamines. If bites keep appearing, switch hotels! ✅ Bring bug spray – A light misting on your skin and luggage before going to sleep can help. Have you experienced this kind of travel nightmare?!

·6d ago This is why a marathon is 26.2 miles🏃♂️🏅 The legend we’ve heard about Pheidippides running from Marathon to Athens, announcing victory, and collapsing might not be the full truth! 🤯 In reality, some have argued that the real Pheidippides was an ancient Greek courier who ran 153 miles between Athens and Sparta—not to announce victory, but to gather reinforcements before the battle even took place. The famous story of a lone messenger dying after delivering the news of victory didn’t appear in historical records until centuries later. So then how did we get the modern marathon? In 1896, the first Olympic marathon was set at 24.85 miles (40km)—roughly the distance from Marathon to Athens—after a French scholar suggested the event. But in the 1908 London Olympics, the course was extended to 26.2 miles so the British royal family could watch the start at Windsor Castle and see the finish from the royal box. That oddly specific distance stuck, and it’s been the standard distance for marathons ever since! 🏃♂️💨

·2-15As soon as you arrive in Brazil, RUN to the summit of the Two Brothers mountain for sunrise!! To embark on this adventure, I hopped on a motorbike through a favela at 3 AM to reach the trailhead. As we climbed, we saw the favelas sparkling below and got glimpses of Christ the Redeemer in the distance. At the top, the view was absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! What made this adventure even more incredible was the opportunity to rappel down the mountain. Overall, this was my favorite experience in Rio de Janeiro. The journey through the favela, the stunning views, and the rappelling all made it a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

·2-8And a few days after this I got✨malaria✨ Storytime: When I was traveling across West Africa, I saw this man in a gas mask and hazmat suit fumigating outside of my hotel in Guinea. At first I didn't think anything of it which I would later come to regret... I woke up in the middle of the night to a tight, painful feeling in my lip. In the dark, I knew I had been bitten by some kind of bug. I got out of bed to assess the swelling and when I flipped on the light switch, and was absolutely horrified at what I saw in the mirror. My upper lip had swollen more than three times the size! My skin was so tight it felt like it could rip open. Since it was the middle of the night and I had an early flight, I had absolutely no idea what to do. I looked like a crazy person walking through that airport the next day😂 Over the next few days, the swelling began to decrease, but I started feeling very sick. I was exhausted, had muscle aches and a fever, chills, diarrhea- the works. I ended up going to the hospital in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. In spite of the language barrier, I ended up being treated for malaria by the kind doctors there. My recovery was slow, but I was lucky because my symptoms only escalated to a sickness similar to the flu. What most people won't tell you is that travel isn't always pretty. Sometimes it means risking spider, mosquito and bed bug bites (sometimes all at the same time). Getting sick and having to recover on the road is not fun. However, I wouldn't trade those miserable moments in exchange for all of the incredible ones I've had while exploring this big and beautiful world.

·2-7Trapped in an airport for 18 years?!🤯 Mehran Karimi Nasseri, better known as 'Sir Alfred' of Charles de Gaulle Airport, was stuck in a legal paradox where he couldn’t board a plane but he also couldn’t leave the airport. His real-life story inspired Spielberg’s The Terminal! 🎬

·2-5The easiest way to convert °C to °F! Not exact, but close enough for common temps. Save this for your next trip! ✈️🌍 Formula:
👉 °C to °F: (°C x 2) + 30
👉 °F to °C: (°F - 30) ÷ 2 Examples:
✅ 10°C → (10x2) + 30 = 50°F (actual: 50)
✅ 15°C → (15x2) + 30 = 60°F (actual: 59)
✅ 20°C → (20x2) + 30 = 70°F (actual: 68)
✅ 25°C → (25x2) + 30 = 80°F (actual: 77)
✅ 30°C → (30x2) + 30 = 90°F (actual: 86)
✅ 35°C → (35x2) + 30 = 100°F (actual: 95) Now, in reverse! 🔄
✅ 80°F → (80-30) ÷ 2 = 25°C (actual: 27)
✅ 90°F → (90-30) ÷ 2 = 30°C (actual: 32) This isn't perfect but useful for quick conversions!🧠 Save this for your next adventure. 🌎✈️ #TravelHacks
