Despite being blind and deaf, Harold is very smart and will adjust to his new home with ease once he's learned the lay of the land! He loves being the center of attention and dreams of the day that he becomes someone's loyal lap-dog. ❤ We know that adopting a blind and deaf dog sounds daunting - but we promise that it's not as difficult as you may think! 🥰 Harold's ideal home would be stair-free, but we also believe he could safely live in a multi-story home so long as baby gates are installed to keep him from misstepping. ‼️POE UPDATE‼️ Poe arrived at KHS last week with extreme injuries caused by a gunshot. We jumped into action upon his arrival providing him with pain medication and antibiotics to keep him comfortable as we assessed his wounds.❤️‍🩹 Our hearts broke when his x-rays revealed a severe break to Poe’s front right leg along with bullet and bone fragments littering his little body.😢 Despite all he's been through, Poe's resilient spirit shines through.☀️He's been able to use his leg for support without causing himself any pain, giving us hope that his injuries may be able to heal without amputation.♥️ Poe is resting in a loving foster home where he will be able to recover without the added stress of shelter life. 🏠 He will return for a check-up in a couple of weeks, at which point we will be able to determine whether his injuries require surgery. Poe, a 2-year-old black cat, arrived at KHS with heartbreaking injuries caused by a gunshot.❤️‍🩹 X-rays revealed this poor kitty’s front leg was severely wounded, and his humerus bone was shattered by a bullet. Shrapnel litters his body and is even lodged behind his left eye. We’ve provided Poe with pain medication and antibiotics to keep him comfortable and infection-free while he heals. We’ve splinted his leg and hope his injuries will heal with time and rest. Poe will remain under observation so we can determine if an amputation surgery is needed.
