#AD for one of my favorite skin friendly HOCL sprays from @Base Laboratories , I carry this with me EVERYWHERE to sanitize my hands, treat small cuts, or spray my face if I accidentally touch it 🥲 and more importantly, it kills norovirus (aka the stomach flu). This formula has hyaluronic acid, rose water, and goji berry to hydrate and be kind to skin, while being a superhero cleaner for body and home! #hypochlorousacidspray #baselabs #esthetican #skincare

I have to be honest—I’m frustrated. Every time I see a fresh graduate turned away from a salon or spa because they don’t yet have a “line of clients” or “3-5 years of experience,” it stings. I remember being that new face, full of passion and potential, but with no clientele or years of experience under my belt. Struggling, clawing my way down that path, split and dirty nails fighting to get my place. How are we supposed to grow if we close our doors to those who are just starting out? To the salon and spa owners out there: our industry is built on community and mentorship, not just profit. When we turn away new talent because they’re still learning, we lose the chance to nurture the very people who could transform our field. Commission-based models should be a pathway to growth—not a barrier. New talent deserves real support: fair pay (more than a meager $10-15 an hour), guidance, and a genuine investment in building their clientele. It’s also hard to ignore how a catty, judgmental environment can take root. Some spaces end up looking down on newbies—treating them like they know nothing, judging them by where they went to school or who they know, rather than valuing the fresh ideas and raw talent they bring. This culture not only stifles growth but drives promising talent away, making the industry feel less like a community and more like a cutthroat competition. I understand not everyone is meant for the beauty industry, or a right fit for your business, but those who are, we have to give new beauty professionals that chance to fly. I’ve seen firsthand how a fresh graduate can bring raw, unmatched talent to the table—often more than someone who’s been in the industry for a decade. We were all new once, and we all needed someone to show us the ropes. Mentorship isn’t just an add-on; it’s the cornerstone of a thriving community. Yet today, too many of our colleagues are treated like dollar signs rather than the future of this industry. This isn’t a blanket attack—there are many of you with hearts full of love for your craft and a commitment to growth. Your tenderness, generosity, patience, and your heart does not go unseen or unheard. But for others, we need to reflect on our practices. Are we really fostering an environment where new talent can flourish, or are we simply chasing profit at the expense of our collective future? Let’s choose to invest in people. Let’s create spaces where fresh graduates aren’t forced to choose between survival and growth. It’s time to bring back mentorship, fair compensation, and genuine community support. Because when new talent thrives, our entire industry shines brighter. #esthetician #estheticianstudent #estheticianlife #hairstylist #spa #salon #skincare #beautyindustry

My perspective on this nbc news article on the hair dye lawsuit. I am no expert in this subject, but I do understand the subject of nuance and other risk factors. Thank you also to all my friends @Mira and resources for all of you @moskinlab for a potentially future video breaking down this topic. #hairdye #hairdresser #esthetician #skincare #redken #blonde #skin #highlights #fyp
