Line Path hit-and-run acc!dent: lone survivor discharged from hospital Seventeen-year-old Tushan Surujnarine, who was involved in a hit-and-run acc!dent that tragically took the lives of his wife and daughter, was discharged from the hospital on Thursday. The horrific incident occurred on Sunday, March 2nd, around 6:30 PM on Line Path Public Road in Corentyne, Berbice. Tushan was riding an electric cycle with Kavita, and their infant daughter, nine month old Eli Surujnarine. The family, residents of Crabwood Creek, were struck from behind by a white Fielder wagon, causing them to be violently thrown from their vehicle and sustain serious injuries. They were quickly transported to Skeldon Public Hospital, then referred to New Amsterdam Public Hospital, and subsequently, Kavita was transferred to the Georgetown Hospital. Tragically, the baby succumbed to her injuries en route at approximately 9:45 AM on Monday. Additionally, Kavita succumbed to her injuries at the Georgetown on Thursday around 8:50 am. While the vehicle has been located, the driver remains at large as the investigation unfolds. In an interview with reporters Tushan's mother, Shanili Ramotar, stated firmly that her son is recovering but he remains in a state of shock. "He said he is just feeling pain on his body and he head. Fuh see he in this condition to tell him that his wife passed away was very heartbroken. He was crying; he was asking us to take him there. He is panicking onto now," she revealed. Meanwhile, Tushan's uncle Ganesh Gomanie said," We was made to understand from the hospital that Kavita died from a broken ankle, knee, hip, and her spleen was removed along with other organs of her body." Gomanie reiterated his demand for the driver responsible for the devastating incident to step forward and face the consequences of his actions. "The driver of the car is still at large. But the Police is trying their best. But we are still asking the family that if they can turn this guy in that we can bring him to justice," he revealed.
