A rare naturally occurring eternal flame!🔥 This flame is one of the 9 big naturally occurring eternal flames we have here on earth. Some argue there are more, but many refer to the 9 big ones. This flame here is one of the more famous eternal flames due to it’s location inside of a waterfall. They occur because of cracks in the earth that leak a combination of natural gases. They can be lit by a lightning strike or human involvement. Some say this flame was lit by Native Americans millions of years ago…. Makes you wonder how many more are out there that haven’t been discovered of have just lost their flame over time… some say there are/have been over a hundred over time! • • • #hiking #eternalflame #newyork #worldwonder #gooutside #stayactive #winter

·6d ago One of my favorite steelhead fishing days ever! With all this snow and cold sweeping across the country I can’t help but think about all the fish in this stream that probably haven’t seen a line all year! 👀🐟 Good luck fishing to everyone that gets out this weekend! 🤝 • • • #steelhead #fishing #flyfishing #trout

·6d ago I felt like I was holding a dragon! Look at the eye and scales on this guys face! They also have some very sharp teeth that you definitely don’t want to get bit by 🦎🦜 Here’s five cool facts about these dragons: 1.) They Can “Fall” from Trees: Iguanas in Florida have a tendency to perch in tall trees. When the temperature drops below 50°F (10°C), iguanas can become lethargic and literally fall out of the trees. This is often mistaken for the iguanas “freezing,” but they’re actually just in a state of temporary paralysis due to the cold. 2.) They’re Excellent Swimmers: Green iguanas are fantastic swimmers and can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes. In Florida, they often take to the water to escape predators or when they are being chased. Their strong tail can help them propel quickly through the water. 3.) A Diet of Mostly Plants: While iguanas may be seen basking in the sun, they are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plants, fruits, and flowers. This includes both native plants and garden plants, making them a nuisance for homeowners who see their landscaping being devoured. 4.) Rapid Reproduction: Iguanas can reproduce frequently, with females laying between 20 and 70 eggs at a time, usually multiple times a year. This high reproductive rate contributes to their population boom in Florida, especially in areas with mild winters. 5.) They Cause Damage to Infrastructure: Their burrowing behavior can cause significant damage to infrastructure. Iguanas dig deep burrows along canal banks, sidewalks, and roadsides, weakening the soil structure and sometimes leading to sinkholes or even collapsed sidewalks. Their droppings can also be a health hazard in some areas. Now you know 📝 • • • #iguana #florida #animals #reptile

·1w ago It’s a different world underwater! The fish you can see in this video are bass, gar, bowfin and some other small species. The alligator does have a turtle in its mouth which is a common snapping turtle. The other animals seen are the following. The turtle I have in my hand is a small musk turtle and the bigger one being swam after is a Florida cooter turtle. That bird that jumps in the water is a Anhingas which is also known as a snake bird 🐢🐟🐊🤿 Would you ever swim around alligators? 🤔 • • • #freedive #underwater #underwaterphotography #florida
