As someone who has been diagnosing skin cancer over the last 13 years and seeing the positive impact of sunscreen and sun protection, it pains me to see information like this being spread around. Also, dont get me started on low vitamin D. I see plenty of leathery tan people with vitamin D deficiency. Its a complex subject. I appreciate the important role sun plays with our circadian rhythm and hormones. I ask that people do their research before sharing info like this video from @Paul Saladino

Being board-certified in the medical field means getting a certification through a rigorous ACGME-accredited program and passing a certification exam. Please often ask me why or how are you triple-boarded? Short answer: I’m crazy. I did a combined internal medicine and dermatology program because I was interested in complex medical dermatology and autoimmune diseases. My love for pathology resurfaced during derm residency because we get so much exposure to dermatopathology — we have to now what every skin condition/growth/cancer looks like under the microscope. So I ended up also pursuing a 1-year fellowship in that. My overall passion is in holistic or integrative dermatology, which I did get a certificate in but it’s not through an accredited program. But I believe all my training has only made me a better doctor, and for that I’m grateful. #medicalschool #dermatologist #internalmedicine #dermpath #medicalschool #derm #drmamina

·2024-9-14I have done my fair share of trying products (as someone who struggled with hair loss) and researching products (as a dermatologist), so hopefully this helps! 🎥: @kait.davis #hairgrowth #hairgrowthtips #hairloss #hairlosssolutions

·18h ago Ain't gonna lie. My office staff can be kinda bougie when it comes to their vitamin C serum 😅 I swear this isn't an ad 🤣 but I do see a common theme here 👀 What is your favorite Vitamin C serum right now?! #vitamincserum #dermfavorites #dermatologist

·1d ago I think tech and facial tools are going to continue to take over in 2025 for facial rejuvenation. But we need more science backing them up. I personally still want to try them all! 😅 🎥: @Rachel Carlisle #skincare #skintips #derm #dermreacts

·2d ago Is it just me, or do moms often feel the pressure of an endless to-do list? It can be exhausting and often feels like it goes unnoticed by those around them. It’s completely normal to overthink and feel torn between being an amazing mom and taking time for yourself. Does anyone else have a hard time not thinking about their never-ending to-do list? #momlife #momsoftiktok

·1w ago 💖 If I could offer you just ONE piece of advice, it's this: be proactive with your skincare rather than reactive! I often see people scramble to change their diets, increase their water intake, and obsess over skincare ingredients only when breakouts occur. Instead, why not integrate these healthy habits into your daily routine? Your skin will thank you! 🌟✨ #breakingout #acnebreakouts #pimplepop #stressacne

·2-3🌟 Storytime! Yes, this is all based on a true story! 😭🤣 I grew up in the Unification Church, also known as “The Moonies,” led by Rev. Sun Myung Moon. This church played a HUGE role in shaping my identity as a child—I was all in. But at 16, my dad made the tough decision for our family to leave. I felt lost and confused, yet I found solace in being a dedicated student. 🤓 Now, let’s talk about the “popping pimples” part… that’s me playfully referring to my journey as a triple board-certified dermatologist! 🤭 Growing up in such a unique environment has given me invaluable perspective. Surrounded by Asian culture and having lived in Seoul during middle school, I developed a deep appreciation for holistic medicine. My fascination with dermatology blossomed from the belief that our skin tells the story of what’s going on inside us. So, in a way, my experiences in the cult and my passion for dermatology are intricately linked—who would’ve thought? 😂✨
