On today’s episode of “Reporting Live with Dr. Desai”, it’s another MOMENTS OF GRIEF series where I continue to share the journey of grief. Today, I’m sharing how a show like “Bluey” on Disney triggered so many emotions and thoughts about my own late father. And importantly, the value of what family represents and how all of our decisions impact our families. I realize that grief is not only about tears and sadness, but the realizations we develop about the impact from those that left us. I love “Bluey” and all of its family values, and the newest episode “The Sign” from last week gives it all! The beautiful song “Lazarus Drug” by Meg Washington adds to the impact and emotions from the show. Take a look as the journey of grief continues…

·10h ago Kudos to the flight attendants and pilots of yesterday's Delta Airlines plane crash in Toronto. 80 lives saved! 🙌🙏 Because of their training, preparation, and execution under pressure. This is what they are trained for-emergencies, crises, disasters. Their routine checklists and safety protocols may seem monotonous at times, but when seconds matter, they ACT. Seamlessly. This is the frontline mentality. Jump into action. Do your job. Care. Navigate. Lead during crisis. And while the crash is over and every passenger survived, the mental trauma begins now. These pilots and flight attendants deserve and need time off, therapy, decompression, and-most of all-support from all of us. Let's not forget the unseen burden they now carry. To all frontline workers, in aviation, healthcare, and beyond—we see you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you. 💙✈️ #pilots #pilotsoftiktok #docsoftiktok #flightattendantlife #flightattendant #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters

·1d ago Monday Motivation. Monday Feels. In the midst of chaos and distrust in healthcare that seems to be growing with current events & more, l'm pausing to reflect on a quote from my memoir, Burning Out on the COVID Front Lines...from a time when mistrust in healthcare was at an all-time high during the pandemic. IGNORE the rumor mills. The fear-mongering. The conspiracy theories. The noise. Trust the FRONTLINE-the ones who show up, day after day, caring for patients with dedication and courage. Their voices matter. Their perspective is real. #MondayMotivation #Healthcare #Frontline #healthcareheroes #docsoftiktok #doctorsoftiktok #BurningOutOnTheCOVIDFrontLines

·2d ago Reading Who Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up? by Paula Farris with my son this week hit differently. I got just as much out of it as my little one (if not more!). As adults, we feel pressure to have it all figured out, but this book was a reminder: We're allowed to evolve. Our career doesn't define us—who we are does. I've seen so many people in healthcare, education, and beyond feel disconnected from their careers. This was a fresh reminder to give ourselves grace and remember-we are who we want to be, not just what we do. Grateful for this perspective, Paula! So much to think about and reflect on in a time of so much change... #paulafaris #docsoftiktok #doctors #careers #careeradvice #humanism #authors

·5d ago Boundaries. Presence. Gratitude. 🙌🙌 There's so much going on in the world-news, politics, work, life's challenges. I'm a work in progress, and I'm getting better about making space for the moments that matter (and that I will think fondly of 30 years from now. Reframing what and how I look at what truly matters- thanks @Sahil Bloom This was last week. A warm night, a great dinner, and time with my family. Yeah....l'm a city boy. ·6d ago Why does it take going viral to get lifesaving care? This man needed a liver transplant-it was his only hope. Thankfully, his story got the attention it needed. But what about those who don't have a platform? What happens to them? Yes, every case is different. Yes, there are medical criteria and appeal processes. But too often, it feels like we have to turn to social media and the media just to get action. As a frontline healthcare worker, I remind myself daily: Never underestimate the power of advocacy. Challenge. Challenge. Keep pushing for what our patients need and deserve. #AdvocacyMatters #WednesdayWisdom #Healthcare #PushForChange #advocate #patientadvocate #docsoftiktok

·1w ago TuesdayTips: This Time, I'm the Patient🩺 February is #HeartHealthMonth, and today's tip is simple but so important-know your blood pressure! High BP is a silent killer that can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, and heart failure. Since it often has no symptoms, getting checked is the best thing you can do. I got mine checked today-borderline normal-which is a reminder to stay on top of my health, especially with my family history. Prevention is key! (And yes, a very smart doctor that I live with is on my case! Know your numbers: 120/80 is the goal! Have questions about BP? Drop them below! ·2-11Throwing it back 13 years ago to one of the most unforgettable moments of my life-February 8, 2012. The surprise proposal LIVE on @goodmorningamerica right in the heart of Times Square in NYC! Huge thanks to @Good Morning America & @ABC News for helping pull it off. So special that our family and friends could watch it all unfold. 13 years later, it still feels like a dream. Grateful that my now wife said 'YES' on that freezing morning-and even more grateful that she's stuck with me ever since! Also, shoutout to Robin, George, Lara, and Sam for being incredibly kind, welcoming, and warm that day. And, Morgan from GMA was the best producer and supporter through it all! Truly a moment we will never forget! Sit #GMA #proposalvideo #proposal #TimesSquare #bestyes #memories #engagement #shesaidyes #throwback #nyc

·2-8This week, I was honored to join over 200 physicians at the Georgia State Capitol for Physician’s Day, advocating for our profession and, most importantly, our patients. Our healthcare system is complex, but meaningful conversations—with legislators, lobbyists, and each other—are essential. Even when we don’t see eye to eye, being heard and pushing for change matters. Let’s keep the momentum going! #AdvocacyMatters #PhysiciansDay #HealthcarePolicy #docsoftiktok #doctorsoftiktok #fridayfeels

·2-7Tuesday Tips: What to Do If You Have the Flu Flu hit you hard? Here's what to do: Get tested-Flu, COVID, or RSV? Knowing helps. • Consider antivirals (like Tamiflu) if caught early. Manage symptoms-Ibuprofen & Tylenol can help (I'm a fan of NSAIDs for flu, but use with caution!). Fuel & hydrate-Protein is great, but all calories count when you're sick. Rest, rest, rest-Your body needs it! It’s not too late to get vaccinated -Protection still matters. ·2-4"Hospitals should be places of healing-not fear." When a patient seeks medical care, they should never have to worry about being detained. The possibility of ICE raids in hospitals doesn't just threaten the well-being of patients-it also puts undue stress on healthcare workers and disrupts the fundamental mission of medicine: to care, to heal, and to do no harm. I shared my thoughts in this OPINION piece for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about why hospitals must remain safe spaces for all patients, regardless of immigration status. ·2-2Tuesday Tips: Be ALERT, NOT ALARMED about the Tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas. Tuberculosis (TB) is treatable-but early action is key. In today's Tuesday Tips, I review the common symptoms of tuberculosis and encourage you to be aware. The good news is that TB has been around for a while. If you're exposed or notice these signs, seek medical help early as there's pathways to help. ·1-29Throwing it back to 2019 when my daughter and I had the chance to meet the amazing Hoda Kotb...twice! Her warmth and kindness left such an impression on us. We've loved reading her books - both for adults and kids. She's clearly invested in the human experience, and it's palpable on-air and in her writing. As she wraps up her time on the Today Show tomorrow, I'm also reflecting on how her move on to something else at a peak at her time on the show inspires hope for those of us who may want a change and don't know where to start. Hoda is showing us that even when things are good, there's always room for more and bolder new chapters! Thanks for being ALL of our friends every morning! Kudos and cheers! #throwbackthursday #hodabration #hodakotb #todayshow #goodbye #thebestisyettocome
