This is the wall you see when you walk into our house in the living room and it was pretty boring, so I added an asymmetrical blob wall with lights and made a DIY zellige tile console table! At first the grout was way lighter than the packaging looked, so i ended up staining it a little more earthy like the tile and im so happy with how it turned out! On Jan 7, the fires started in LA, wiping out neighborhoods close by. My friend @alden started organizing the making of sifters for those who lost their homes to help find anything that may have survived the fire as she has unfortunately had experience losing her childhood in a fire a few years ago and used a sifter to find sentimental items. After I shared that @James Dunn and I were going to build some, you guys donated enough to cover supplies to build 200 and the extensive safety gear to protect them while sifting!!! (Respirator masks, hazmat suits, boot covers, goggles and heavy duty chemical resistant gloves) A whole bunch of our friends volunteered to help build them and after 2 work days, we were able to donate them to so many families who lost everything 🥺 My friend @Laurenzoooo’s in-laws house was lost and after sifting through the ash, they were able to find her MIL wedding band that thankfully hadn’t melted! 😭 I’ve slowly heard from people finding their things among the ash and even though this is the most heartbreaking time, everyone’s willingness to come together, volunteer and help out, has blessed so many people. I just want to say thank you so much for everyone that donated, helped build, and supported 🫶 LA Strong ✊❤️‍🩹

When my brother was in high school, him and his friends would stay up all night on NYE playing video games and then in the morning, when they still hadn’t slept yet, I woke up early and made them pancakes for breakfast 🥞 Then, as my sisters and I got older, we could have some of our friends come over until the ball drop that then evolved into a 12+ hour party from 10pm-10am consisting of tournaments, food, dance parties, breakfast and an award ceremony for the tournaments in the morning after a sleepless night. It’s so special to now see my nieces and nephew and the other kids dance the night away together 🪩 as we ring in the new year together and even though we start to wrap up the night slightly before breakfast, it’s my favorite quality time as we celebrate a new fresh year all together. My Italian great aunt would always say that however you spend your new years is how your year is gonna be, and I would be so grateful to have a fraction of this night throughout the year. 🫶 Happy new year everyone and grateful to have you here! ❤️

Make sure to do these things👇🏼 1️⃣ Be meticulous. The small details like straight cut lines, no air bubbles and clean caulk lines is what is gonna sell the real stone look! 2️⃣ Spend time on the seams. Of course trying to get pieces big enough to not have seams is ideal, but if not, read the instructions on if overlapping might line up the pattern better. 3️⃣ Do LOTS of coats of poly. If the countertop isn’t durable, it won’t look like real stone, so go to town on extra layers of poly, especially on the corners & seams! 4️⃣ Use a heat gun or blow dryer.
