This is the dramatic moment a gang of burglars came screeching into the grounds of Blenheim Palace in stolen cars before carrying out a £4.8million golden toilet. CCTV filmed the 'audacious' raid shortly before 5am on September 14 2019, during which a gang of five men are seen using sledgehammers to break in through a window. Three men are on trial - Michael Jones, 39, from Oxford, is accused of burglary, while Frederick Doe, 36, from Windsor, and Bora Guccuk, 41, from London, are charged with converting or transferring criminal property. They deny the charges. Another alleged accomplice - James Sheen, 40, from Wellingborough in Northamptonshire - pleaded guilty to burglary at an earlier hearing. Keir Starmer pledged to slash aid spending to boost defence today as he braces for a crucial trip to meet Donald Trump and try to repair Western ties. In a dramatic Commons statement, the PM warned of rising 'instability' in Europe saying leaders 'must stand by Ukraine'. He branded Vladimir Putin a 'menace', pointing to the Salisbury poison attack, and insisted the Russian dictator would only respond to 'strength'. Sir Keir said the UK will be pumping 2.5 per cent of GDP into defence by 2027, describing it as the 'biggest sustained increase since the end of the Cold War'. The figure will rise to 3 per cent 'in the next Parliament', he added. #keirstarmer #donaldtrump #ukraine #russia #vladimirputin #defence #worldwar3 #ukrainewar #news #army

Regularly using e-cigarettes could put users at risk of dementia, heart disease and organ failure, a bombshell study has revealed. Britons are taking up vaping in unprecedented numbers, with roughly one in ten adults estimated to be hooked on the habit. Now researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University believe the gadgets could pose an even worse health threat than cigarettes. Experts are concerned this high nicotine content increases heart rate and blood pressure, making blood vessels constrict and damaging artery walls. #vaping #vape #smoking #news #health

Furious Brits have slammed Manchester Police and Labour for 'shameful' behaviour targeting a grandmother exposed by The Mail on Sunday. Two police officers were caught on camera paying a visit to a grandmother simply for criticising Labour politicians on Facebook. Greater Manchester Police said last night: 'We spoke to the woman for six minutes to advise she was the subject of a complaint of harassment and to answer any questions she may have. 'No further action is necessary as no crime has been committed. 'We are under a duty to inform her that she is the subject of a complaint. The genuine threats that have been made to local councillors recently have meant it has been more necessary to ensure all reports are looked at. #police #stockport #freespeech #news #manchester
