HOW TO DO THAT👇🏻
I know you just want your bladder symptoms to disappear.
The urgency, the pain, the constant bathroom trips… you’d do anything to make it stop.
And trust me, I get it. I was once obsessed with finding the magic fix.
But here’s the problem. The more desperate you are to “make it go away,” the worse it can get.
Stressing over symptoms keeps your nervous system on high alert, which only fuels bladder irritation.
Real freedom doesn’t come from fighting your bladder. It comes from understanding it.
Instead of chasing quick fixes, here’s what actually works.
✔️ Finding your root cause (Not just guessing)
✔️ Regulating your nervous system (Because stress = bladder chaos)
✔️ Healing your pelvic floor (Tension = pain & urgency)
✔️ Letting go of extreme food restrictions (Food isn’t the enemy)
This is exactly what we do inside Road To Remission.
I help you uncover what’s actually driving your symptoms so you can get relief and finally trust your bladder again.

·4d ago If I were in your shoes, here’s what I’d do: First, I’d start learning about the nervous system and what happens when your body gets stuck in fight or flight. I’d remind myself that my worry is normal, but it’s not helpful. Stressing about my upcoming trip will only make my symptoms worse. Then, I’d get to work regulating my nervous system. I’d recognize that this takes time and consistency, but knowing what I know now, I’d feel confident that this work will bring me relief…and I might even be symptom-free by the time my trip rolls around. If you’ve got a big trip coming up and you’re already sweating about it, you’re not alone! Here are some things you can do now to start regulating your nervous system so you can actually enjoy your trip: ✅ Stay off screens (phone, TV, etc.) for the first and last hour of the day ✅ Read The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook ✅ Add meditation and breathwork into your day ✅ Learn about Somatic Tracking (I found The Way Out by Alan Gordon super helpful) ✅ Adjust your self-talk—be kind and compassionate ✅ Optimize your nutrition (stop blindly cutting foods and expecting relief—this can worsen nervous system dysregulation) ✅ Visualize yourself on vacation having the best time (envision best-case scenario!) The goal? Helping your nervous system feel safe. And let’s be real…this isn’t a quick fix. It likely took years for your nervous system to get here, and your bladder symptoms are its way of saying enough is enough. Healing is possible, but you have to be willing to put in the work now. If you need more help, we have a full Nervous System Series inside Road To Remission that can help you regulate your 🧠 within the next 3 months! ·1w ago You see me talking about nervous system dysregulation or chronic stress all the time, but don’t feel stressed… So what’s going on? 🤔 If you’re dealing with bladder issues, tightness in your pelvis, or digestive problems that seem to appear out of nowhere, it might be your nervous system reacting in ways you can’t see. It’s not just about feeling stressed—your body can be responding in subtle, sneaky ways that you might not even realize. If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. Your nervous system could be the missing link to what’s happening with your bladder and gut health. Here are some resources to help you start understanding and healing: The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook by Vanessa Blackstone, MSW, and Olivia Sinaiko, LPC (and check out episode 80 of the @icyoupodcast) The Way Out by Alan Gordon The Curable app (great for nervous system healing!) ·3-10Healing from your bladder symptoms IS POSSIBLE!!! A dysregulated nervous system keeps the body stuck in "fight or flight" mode, making your bladder more sensitive to pain and urgency signals. This can cause the brain to misinterpret normal sensations as threats, leading to symptoms like pain, frequent urges to pee, or even incontinence. Over time, this cycle can keep symptoms stuck, even if there’s no infection orphysical damage. The good news? You can heal by teaching your nervous system that your bladder is safe. You can start by practicing mindfulness, deep breathing, and grounding techniques. Reading The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook is another great tool to help retrain your brain and nervous system. If you need more personalized guidance in getting relief from interstitial cystitis or OAB, I can help you inside my Road To Remission program. ·3-7You’re literally just going to 💩 a bunch, so you can thank me later!! Drinking aloe juice is a bad idea for people with interstitial cystitis because many brands don’t remove 100% of anthraquinones, which are compounds in aloe that can irritate the bladder and worsen symptoms. These compounds have a laxative effect, which can be harmful for people with IC. Additionally, most commercial aloe juice products don’t contain the therapeutic dose of aloe needed to see any real benefit for bladder health. If you want to try taking an aloe Vera supplement, I’d recommend @Desert Harvest Aloe Vera because they remove 100% of the anthraquinones and have conducted research on aloe vera for IC. If you want to try it, use code CKNUTRITION22 *if you use this code, I will make a small commission at no additional cost to you #aloe #aloevera #desertharvestaloevera #ic #interstitialcystisis #icdiet #oab #overactivebladder #bladder #bladderproblems #bladderhealth #aloejuice

·3-4Ever notice how the more you fear a symptom (like pain, frequency, or urgency), the worse that symptom gets? This is called the pain-fear cycle, and it’s something many of us with interstitial cystitis and OAB know all too well. *The word “pain” can be used interchangeably with other symptoms* When we experience bladder symptoms, our natural response is often to fear them coming back. And guess what? That fear triggers the nervous system, which can actually make the symptoms worse or more persistent. Here’s the deal: fear, anxiety, and stress create more tension in the body, and in turn, they can heighten bladder symptoms. The cycle feeds on itself…symptoms leads to fear, fear leads to more symptoms. But it doesn’t have to control you. Breaking this cycle starts with understanding it and then working on nervous system regulation. The more we can calm our bodies and minds, the more we can reduce that pain response. Ready to start your healing journey? Join us in Road To Remission and we’ll help you regulate your nervous system and get relief from your symptoms by summer! ·3-2Start investigating your root cause…basically, what is causing your bladder symptoms? Instead of continuing to treat your symptoms with interventions like medications, supplements, diets, and invasive procedures, which could potentially get you short-term relief (but if you’re like me 10 years ago and nothing helps your symptoms)... It’s time to address what’s actually causing them. This is what will get you long-term relief from your bladder symptoms. To start this process, use my 3-step approach: STEP 1: adjust your mindset. If you don’t believe you’ll get relief, you won’t. STEP 2: Obtain baseline data. Start tracking your symptoms (pain levels, trips to the restroom, urge level on a scale of 1-10). We need data that shows a snapshot of your symptoms now before you start the investigative process and make adjustments to your lifestyle. Other data you can track: stress levels, menstrual cycle, physical activity, food/beverage intake STEP 3: Begin investigating. This looks like analyzing your symptom logs at the end of the week to see if you can pinpoint patterns (keep an eye out for a post on this tomorrow) Some questions to ask yourself: Am I more stressed right before I have a flare up? ➡️Am I generally a highly anxious/nervous person? ➡️Do my symptoms get worse at certain parts of the month? ➡️Do my symptoms happen after I exercise? Or after pelvic PT? ➡️Did I eat or drink something that could have contributed to my symptoms? All of these questions will help you reflect and begin to understand what is causing your symptoms. The top 2 root causes among my clients are nervous system dysregulation and pelvic floor dysfunction. If you need help with this investigative process, I can help you inside my Road To Remission program.
