The current federal minimum wage is not a living wage. It is a starvation wage. #raisewages #fightfor15 #covidrelief

You may have heard Mr. Musk talking about a superior aristocracy of people with “super high IQs.” Does he want to use technology to improve life for all?@hasanabi No. What he wants is even more wealth and even more power for the people on top.

When three people on top own more wealth than the bottom half of America … When a handful of corporations control the economy … When you get one vote but billionaires can spend hundreds of millions of dollars to elect the candidate of their choice … That’s oligarchy.

@hasanabi is right. What's going on in Los Angeles today will become fairly common in years to come, unless the global community comes together to change our energy systems, take on the lies and greed of the fossil fuel industry, and enact a Green New Deal.

The debate is long over. Climate change is real. And it’s here. If we do not get our act together, what we are seeing now will only get worse.

Two years ago, I tried to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. Not a SINGLE Republican supported that effort. Millions of Americans still work for starvation wages. We need to substantially raise the minimum wage. It's time for Republicans to join us in accomplishing that goal.

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump stood up and said he would cap credit card interest rates at 10%. You know what? That's a good idea. I'm going to introduce legislation to do exactly that. I sincerely hope that Trump keeps his word.

Ask the American people: is health care a human right? The vast majority will say yes.

Credit card companies are abusing Americans. It is time to cap interest rates at no more than 10%.

We don't have to balance the budget on the backs of the most vulnerable Americans. The needs of our children, elderly, and health care system are more important than putting more and more weapons into our military system.

We hear all the time about Putin's oligarchy in Russia. News flash: America has an oligarchy, too.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos has more money than could be spent in a million lifetimes. Why then does his company force workers to meet impossible quotas and treat them as disposable when they are injured? To Amazon, long-term pain and disability is just the cost of doing business.

Americans need to know that somebody is standing up and fighting for them.

No matter what the corporate elite tell you, let me make something clear: Universal health care is not radical. A living wage is not radical. Dignity in the workplace is not radical. Higher education without debt is not radical. Affordable housing is not radical.

Politicians cannot vote their conscience when they know that if they defy billionaire-funded Super PACs, millions will be spent against them at the polls. We must get Big Money out of our electoral process

We spend zillions of dollars on prescription drugs in this country. It doesn't take a genius to tell Big Pharma that they've got to negotiate on prices if they want our business.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the priorities of the national government are totally absurd. More and more money for war, less and less for human needs. It’s time to invest in health care, jobs and housing – not more weapons of destruction.
