·2024-6-23Our First Impressions of Guatemala 🇬🇹🛶🌿🌋 1. The Volcanoes in Guatemala are one of the most unique aspects of the country. Watching a volcano erupt is a bucket list experience 🌋 2. Lake Atitlán has 11 towns in total, and it’s worth it to spend some time in this area exploring a few of them 🛶🧘🏻♀️ 3. Personally, we didn’t enounter very much wildlife in Guatemala at all 🦎🐒 it may have just been the destinations we visited, but we did visit 2 nature reserves and didn’t think it compared to other central american countries like Costa Rica & Belize in this respect (but that’s okay because there were SO many other things that made Guatemala unique 🩵) 4. Many people only speak Spanish, so we recommend having a basic understanding of the language if you plan to travel to Guatemala 🇬🇹 5. Prices in Guatemala were significantly lower than other central american countries like Costa Rica & Belize 💵 6. We were well received as travelers in this country 🫶🏼 We don’t like to assert whether or not any country or destination is “safe” because this is different for everyone. BUT we do feel it’s important to share that our experience, as a group of 4 girls visiting this country, was positive. There is so much negativity in mainstream media, it’s good to be reminded that kindess really is everywhere 💌 xoxo #guatemalatravel #guatemalatraveltips #lakeatitlan #femaletravelers #centralamericatravel #placestovisit #guatemalavolcano #guatemalavolcanoeruption

·2-4A Sunday morning well spent in Cambridge, MA: 🥯☕️❄️🧣 @blacksheepbagelcafe for bagels 🥯 @faro__cafe for coffee ☕️ Thrifting at Boomerangs @mtwyouth 👢 And if you fancy another stop at a cafe, @verveinecafe is my favoriteee gluten free cafe in Cambridge 🫶🏼 perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a gf pastry 🥐 I’m so excited to be exploring Boston this winter while the island is quiet & many local businesses are closed. Supporting local is a small choice I can make no matter where I go. Hopefully this can inspire you to stop for a coffee or browse the racks at a local business in your own backyard, wherever that may be 💌 #cambridgemassachusetts #boston #shoplocal #shopsmall #newenglandlife #newenglandtravel #marthasvineyard

·1-145 Less-Traveled Destinations for 2025 🌏🚞🍃 We were so thrilled to see that our favorite travel magazine, @Afar , chose to highlight exclusively less-traveled destinations on their Where To Go in 2025 list. Sustainable travel is not just about HOW we travel, it can also be about WHERE we travel. Choosing to highlight less-traveled destinations like these can help expand the positive economic impact of tourism to destinations that can benefit from it — and give those struggling with over-tourism a chance to breathe. Inspired by this list, here’s a list of our 5 favorite crowd-free destinations from our own travels across the globe 🌏 Our focus for 2025 travel is Slow, Sustainable, and Secluded. 🚞♻️🍃 #2025travel #sustainabletravel #ecotravel #overtourism #placestovisit #ecotourism #sumbawa #galapagosislands #southafricasafari #montezumacostatarica #naxos

·2024-12-15Part 2 of our Sumbawa travel series! We decided to travel from Sumbawa to Gili Air on a budget, and it was quite an adventure! A little over 9 hours but only around $50 p/p. #SustainableTravel #indonesia #sumbawa #traveltips

·2024-12-9Here’s the details of how we traveled from Bali to Sumbawa! Exploring off the beaten path destinations always requires a little more research, but it’s almost always worth it! If you’re planning a visit to Sumbawa and interested in the cost, we paid $200 p/p one way to get to this island in Indonesia. It wasn’t the cheapest or easiest thing we did, but it was one of the most special experiences! #SustainableTravel #sumbawa #sumbawaisland #indonesia #travelguide

·2024-12-8🎥 Our First Day Sailing the Komodo Islands in Indonesia with @seeksophie 🌊 Day 1 of our liveaboard adventure was honestly magical! From snorkeling vibrant coral reefs 🐠 to exploring the islands 🌴, to seeing thousands of bats fly across the sky at sunset 🌅 we packed so many activities into one day. We booked with @seeksophie because they design itineraries to support local economies and communities. ♻️ Protecting the stunning natural beauty of the Komodo Islands, which are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, is essential. 💚 💡 Thinking of booking a liveaboard trip? Here’s why we chose this experience: 🐠Small group travel for minimal impact. ⛵️Locally operated boat supporting nearby communities. 🪸Opportunities to connect with nature while preserving it. We’ll be back tomorrow with our Day 2 Vlog 💌 xxx #SustainableTravel #KomodoIslands #EcoTourism #TravelWithPurpose #LiveaboardAdventure #SupportLocal #SeekSophie
