THE TAPE PEEL! After 100 days, 10 states, 16+ cities, and 2,860+ miles, 100 Marks On The Road is done! 🎉🥹 I have loved filling in each section and I think this is one of my most personal and meaningful projects I have worked on. Thank you for letting me share it with you and being a part of this journey with me 💗💗💗 PS: You know I love a good recap so a final look back at these past 100 days is coming soon :) PPS: Valentine and I are still driving around the country so I’m going to continue documenting nomadic living this way! I’ll be making a fresh new sheet with new borders and blank sections. The next one will include travels to MI and…CANADA! Can’t wait to see how it unfolds! #the100dayproject #artprocess #artproject #oddlysatisfying #arttok

·2022-1-24February’s mantra & art is about self love, self acceptance, self compassion. 🩷 I trust myself. I listen to my intuition. I look within. I am gentle with myself. I accept myself. I love myself. There is so much to love and celebrate about each one of us 🌹 #mantra #sketchbookart #abstractart #mixedmediaart

·2-9FREE CREATIVE CHALLENGE! Creating can help us express, process, heal, and connect. This year I'm hosting a free challenge called the Creative Spark Challenge. The goal is to create 1 piece of art per month throughout the year. I'll be supporting you by sharing a prompt card and ideas to help you stay inspired and motivated. At the end of each month I'll be hosting a zoom call where we can share what we created and how we interpreted the prompt we chose. It's all free and all you have to do is sign up for my newsletter, Atiliay Notes, to receive the monthly prompts (link in bio). I'll be sending out January's prompt email this Sunday 1/13. I hope you'll join me for creativity and community!🎨💛 #artchallenge #sketchbookart #artinspo

·2024-12-12Going out of my comfort zone and painting a more realistic self portrait for the right side of this spread. I chose a photo of me and Valentine as a reference because being her caretaker and person is who I am right now, espeicially now in her senior years (shes 17 1/2 now) and navigating through this chapter of life 💗🐶

·2024-9-4"Everything that we see in our daily lives is more or less distorted by acquired habits and this is perhaps more evident in an age like ours when cinema posters and magazines present us every day with a flood of ready-made images which are to the eye what prejudices are to the mind. The effort to see things without distortion demands a kind of courage; and this courage is essential to the artist, who has to look at everything as though he were seeing it for the first time." - Henri Matisse I find this quote to still be very true--and it might even hold more truth with things that we have now like social media and AI. My original idea was to write this quote with a distorted paint brush in a messy imperfect way, then add an origami inspired piece on top. The top piece represents the things we are presented with, that look so perfect and clean and precise and that we don't see the messy layers that came before it. I had to adjust on the way though because the clear paper on top of the white paper with blue paint wasn't really showing! I ended up adding the black piece to help with this and wrote the quote again. I'm kinda bummed the bottom was covered but I also like the extra layer and the pop of black! I also really loved doing this origami fold! It's so easy but the effect is pretty cool (and also reminds me of pastries lol) and I like how it creates an eye shape and windows which to me, really fits with the theme. #ssunslump #abstractart #sketchbookart
