Pothos Looking Lanky? Make Some New Baby Plants! Here's how: 1️⃣ Snip just below a node or leaf, (where those little bumps are). 2️⃣ Fill your pot with moist soil (yes, the word we all love to hate 😅). 3️⃣ Use bobby pins or wire to pin down the ends, making sure they have good soil contact. 4️⃣ Mist them and keep the soil moist (but not soggy). Roots will start growing fast, giving you a whole new pothos family! It’s simple, fun, and oh-so-rewarding. Happy planting! #pothos

Now is the perfect time to start your tomato, basil, and pepper seeds! Speed up germination time with one of Laurelle’s favourite gardening toys, a heating mat. Just place your seed trays on the mat until they sprout—warmth helps them wake up faster! There are different types available, just plug one in, let it warm up, and watch your seeds take off.

For $4.50, you can get a packet of 242 lettuce seeds—each one ready to grow into fresh, crisp greens for months and months! 💰 Cost breakdown: Each seed costs less than 2 cents! 🤯 Harvesting outer leaves means continuous lettuce for weeks from the same plant! No fancy setup needed—just soil, a container, and a sunny spot (or a grow light). In 4-6 weeks, you'll have fresh, homegrown lettuce that keeps on giving!

Cold Stratification: 4 Ways to Trick Your Seeds Into Thinking It’s Winter The Lazy Gardener Method in fall or winter clear a bare patch of ground, sprinkle your seeds add soil if needed, and if there’s snow—just kick it back over. Mother Nature will handle the rest. The Fridge Hack Moisten a paper towel, sand or potting mix (if you have larger seeds the potting mix l and the sand work well) then toss your seed embedded paper towel or growing medium in a ziplock or jar, and stash them in the fridge for a few weeks depending on their requirements. Check to make sure they remain moist but not soggy. Basically, a DIY winter without the frostbite. The Ice Cube Trick Some seeds, like poppies, love an extra freeze. Just freeze them in ice cubes or dirt cubes and then put them outside. Poppies need light to germinate so just press your cubes into the winter ground. Because some plants just like to be dramatic. The DIY Winter Greenhouse Milk jugs, grow domes, or anything clear—sow your seeds inside the container, leave them outside, and let real winter do the work. Minimal effort, They wake up in the spring when they are ready, no need to harden off and best of all, you have more room inside for your other seeds that like it a bit warmer. Minimal effort -maximum results.

We are open 9am - 5pm today for Family Day! Did you know that most perennials and native seeds need a little trick to wake up? It's called cold stratification—basically, convincing your seeds they've been through winter before they sprout! One of the easiest methods? Dampen a paper towel, place your seeds on top, seal them in a plastic bag or jar, and pop them in the fridge! Give it 4-6 weeks for most seeds (check online for the specific length of time for your type of seed), and your seeds will be ready to grow! Some seeds have a long germination time like lavender. While it's not strictly necessary to have a cold stratification, you get a faster germination and greater number of seeds germinating with a short cold period (usually 2-3 weeks). Want to know if your seeds need this treatment? Look them up online for the best results!
